out of my 40 years of driving ive never had to file an insurance claim, recently my son drove my 2007 Tacoma trd sport supercharged double cab truck to walmart which is less than a mile away, well somehow lost control spun out and hit a street light pole! he is fine the truck not so much.for some reason I didn't want to make that call to my insurance co.made the call the next morning, the lady that took all information needed was simply amazing and told me she was gonna submit this report to an adjuster and I would hear back by the end of the day! sure enough he called within a couple hours and said he was going to tow yard in the morning and was gonna have truck towed across the street to an approved repair shop to get repair estimate, asked me for permission and was I ok with this?? I said sure! oh by the way he was just as cool as the first lady if not nicer. at the end of this day he calls and says sadly the truck is a total loss, we will send a check for so so amount! im like wow what, just how rapid things were going I was kinda shocked also the amount he said they were paying, I kid you not was more than what similar trucks go for and was more than I paid like 6years ago??? everything is painless, everybody was and is prompt with their call backs, etc. everybody so nice, everything along the way going smoothly??? so smooth its scary seriously! this cant be right right??

I think you know EXACTLY what happened. I'd suggest not letting him drive your new truck because I don't think your insurance company will be as nice the second time he totals your vehicle.

I enjoyed that part about " he somehow lost control " That was funny. I think I see a massive insurance hike in your future.

    Wish you the best OP!
