And I drove a week in one of these. With any incline there's a whole lot of wheezing and turbo whistle but not much movement, still a pig. I'd take my rev-happy 3.5L any day.

Can't worry about gear hunting if you can't even merge onto a busy highway safely.

if you had to take the truck back to the dealer for a howling leaky rear and a erratic 6 speed trans and a Darth Vader AC noise would they still honor the warranty?

The 0-60 is a bit slower due to high elevation. The regular v6 does high 9's to mid 10's

The diesel has a Turbo which should be less affected so perhaps its a second slower.

Too much money for that performance though, could have gotten a V8 for that amount or paid 5k for a SC.

I did it already for the MPGs, then reconsidered my decision over a pumpkin spice latte, and went back to gas for the top-end speed when I’m desert running.

It’s their money, they earned it to spend it.

Interestingly enough, I’m seeing people on TW spending $3000 on rims/tires, $2500 headlights, $10,000 suspension and $8000+ on turbos (soon). There’s very little complaints about these, just weenie rubbing and back slapping all around.

Good point. I like alot of mods available, but there is no way I can make myself spend that much money.

I guess that’s one way to fix the transmission shifting issues on the 3rd gen Tacoma.... just get a whole new engine and transmission.
