No I don’t live there any more, but my Sega Mastersystem gets high reviews.

 

I'm not going to argue with you, but there is more energy in a gallon of diesel than there is a gallon of gasoline.....fact.
It might be a little more dirty, but it is way more efficient.
My Duramax weighs 2K more, has 80 more HP and 400 more ft.lbs. of torque and gets about the same MPG as my Tacoma.
As far as saving the environment. I'll never burn the equivalent of one passenger plane from LA to Hawaii in my lifetime.

They are more expensive and they are slightly dirtier, is that your argument?

 

My 03 Tacoma gets parked beside my 03 Duramax everyday. They both get the same mileage, 16-17. I'll take both 03's over any new one of any flavor.

 

It seems to a lost idea that these new fangled diesels are nothing like granddad's 1982 VW Rabbit truck. Sure they have more power, less noise, less emissions, but when they break they will break you in half outside of warranty.

 

That applies to anything with an engine, not just diesels.

 

I think the mod in the video (first one) uses the factory trans.

The 3rd generation does not have a transmission problem. It has a problem with the engine not having enough torque in low RPM so the transmission goes hunting for it. The transmission works well, it is the engines that is not capable.

Adding the turbo diesel, with tons of grunt at 1,500 rpm? Yep, that would fix it.

$30K its a lot of money.. I wonder tho if this tacoma with the diesel engine would spell white smoke on a high inclination hill like the gas tacomas do???
