Mine came from the factory with 3 NGK and 3 Denso. I've done the plugs myself each time for replacements and always used 6 NGK plugs from the dealer.

The old 1MZ and 3MZ Toyota engines are the same way.

It's to keep a good relationship between both manufacturers.

Honesty....the OE plugs are good for better than 30K. The 30K interval is mainly for CA trucks to ensure CARB requirements are met.

Toyota had an agreement with both brands, hence the 50/50 split in their engines, Its been like this for A LONG time.

I didn't chang mine when I should have and when I did I found just how much the wear on the gap was. Factory spec is .44

The thing im aggravated is the service history says they were changed, but obviously not! Your better off doing things yourself! All those things I did today are easy maintenance items if you don't mind getting your hands dirty! :)

So bottom line the Stealership lied about the maintenance history and didn't do the work they charged someone for.

A buddy of mine told me that the dealership (Toyota) changed his with all new denso plugs, all the same brand! So I think it's factory plugs I changed at 75k!!!! Ridiculous!

Mine is like a completely different truck like truly! The throttle body was horrific, air filter was nasty, and the plugs were original! And all my fluids were black when I changed them! ... Truck feels 100x's better now!

Make sure you grease your zerts underneath. I'm sure that was skipped as well then. There aren't a lot on these trucks so it doesn't take but 15 min max

Unless you are running Iridium Tipped plugs you should change the plugs by schedule every 30K miles.

Dealerships do maintaince related to safety issues only in most cases. They cover their asses and that's about it... I worked as a tech for Subaru and Honda and they were identical

Because someone didn't take care of the vehicle, and bother changing the plugs on the regular intervals...
