What the he'll is a relative index score. Looks like a pretty large number but it could equal a small fraction of owners.

make sure you know what your looking at...

"The complaint index is based on a ratio of the number of complaints for each vehicle to the sales of that vehicle. The numbers represent relative index scores, not the number of complaints received"

So its not 2010 models but complaints about any year Tacoma if the complaint was made in 2010?
But the number of compliants is some sort of mystical ratio to the number of vehicles sold? Considering the number of vehicles sold and the number of years on the road?

I never complained to any goverment agency, but my 2006 taco with less than 10,000 miles had an oil leak that required about $2500 of warranty work. When they finished the work, they didn't put the serpentine belt on correctly and it failed on the way to a Death Valley run. Fortunately I had a spare on hand.

Later I had an intermittant problem with the 4wheel low switch not working (which sucks since I only use it when I need it). That required replacement of the ECU.

The rear spring leaf TSP is an embarassment for an "TRD Off Road" truck.

And there have been too many failed rear ring & pinon's on tacoma's and FJ's.

IMHO Toyota is getting a fair ranking.
