SO got rid of the 35s today with some new 33s DuraTracs and now when I hit around 65mph, there is a horrible low noise vibration that seems like it's coming from the front passenger side under the truck.

It seems like it is wind related but really can't tell..(still there if I put it in neutral or let off the gas) the vibrations feel and sounds like a body panel is going to fly off or something the faster you go. There is really no vibration in the steering wheel either..

I'm wondering if with the small/thinner tire, with a 6 inch lift there is too much air getting into the wheel wells now? A lot of the plastic was cut out for the rubbing with the 35s.. but never experienced anything like this with the 35s on there.

I plan on lowering the coil overs about an 1 to 1 1/2 soon.

To rule out anything mechanical related to the wheel/tire combo, you could switch the fronts with the rears and see if the problem goes with it.

My 1st gen made a terrible sound randomly at higher speeds. Turned out to be the inner plastic liner oscillating in the wind! It was a terrible sounding noise. Cut it back so it wasn't loose anymore and no ore noise! Hope this is your problem as well.

This doesn't do it randomally.. it's every time I hit 65-70.. depending on wind too. I'm going to take off the skid plates first.. then start duct tapping!

I would check the plastic. Its way easier than dropping a skid plate or two!

Sounds like a tire balance issue. I've heard duratracs can be a b!tch to balance.

That's what I was thinking but it got worse when I encountered like a strong wind at lower speeds, which made it worse. My 35s weren't balanced worth crap, I know what that feels like

The reason I'm thinking it's metal because there is no way plastic could make this kinda of noise or vibration. It's like a really low bass sound.. almost like a "vibrator" sitting on metal..starts really low then get real intense like front body panels of the truck are going to fly off. Gonna switch the tires around too..

Start with your skid plate then first.

Def check the skid plate. Was with a guy a few months back had a similar issue and his skid bikes were loose vibrated like crazy and was loud. random but def something to look at.
Also I would check your drive shaft and related parts make sure nothing is loose.

only other think I had before was my exhaust used to bang my skids and was really mount. Had to remove skid and cut out a spot where it was rubbing the skid.

I'm pretty sure it is the carrier bearing.. It is pretty easy to move and the rubber looks like it is shrinking. I checked it a couple months ago, had a little play in it.. I'm thinking this has probably been there, just with the smaller, smoothers tires, I can actually feel it now. I rarely even went over 65mph with the 35s because it was so horrible to drive.

Could be anything at this point.. there is zero play in the wheels, ball joints, new outer tie rods.. I'm got the center bearing out.. It's all tore up, but from what I read, seems like it might not be the issue. We will see.

The vibration was from the prinsu roof rack.. This was a painful process to figure out.. lots of panels, plates removed and duct tape.

Seems to be a common issue with these roof racks and have have all the" fix actions" to stop it.

I removed the wind deflector and it fixed the issue.
