gas is not all the same. there is a difference some major, some minor. chevron, texaco, shell, 76 are some of top rated gasolines available. that's like saying all oil is the same.

Ever since I bought my truck I've used Chevron. It's across the street from Toyota dealer and I figured I'd just stick with what they first put in it...plus, it's the closest . Most fill-ups I use 87, and usually go higher when towing or wheeling. I doubt if it makes any difference, but I've never noticed the "engine tick" so many speak of.

AAFES FTMFW. I used to fill up with Kangaroo but I seemed to average 1 mpg better on on-base gas. Of course that was right around the winter/summer case change so it could have been coincidence.

Any time I've used Chevron, my mpg. has gone down. For some reason, the cheapest station seems to render best mpg's for me. "Techron" is B-S IMO.

    hmm or grain alcohol..?
    :D

But i use pretty much just shell, but that's mostly because it is consistently the cheapest around burlington. I wont drive out of my way for gas, if I need it, its whatever kind is the closest.

Lots of small stuff; Grillcraft MX, Bilstein 5100's, Deck Plate Mod w/ AFE air filter, Airaid MIT, braided SS brake lines, Redline Tuning QuickLIFT hood struts, Extang Full-Tilt tonneau cover, fog light mod, gray wire mod, power outlets on-demand, Diff breather ext, additional contours to passenger side from oak tree.
For what it's worth, I've put a little over 136,000 miles on my Tacoma since I bought it new in March of '02. For the first three years I put whatever gas was the first station to appear after the light came on, but have put mostly BP in it for the latter 4+ years. I have not seen a notable difference in sound, power, or MPG regardless of what brand I go with. Also, despite what most of my friends swear, I saw no difference between 100% gasoline and 90/10 gas/ethenol. My truck pretty much acts like the Energizer bunny except I can put any brand of 'battery' in it...

I've been tracking every tank since I got my truck two months ago.

The citgo station by my job has given me the worst mileage (18-19) and BP from my house has given me the best (21-24).
