JFC, is that a Tacoma commercial, or a Ridgeline commercial?

This is what I want to see. This sells vehicles to the non-manbun crowd...

Literally the only mention of him in this thread and I give you credit for that! Good or not, he’s done some shit.

For you and everyone else...he may have helped lead Toyota to a win in the Baja 1000 a few years ago...

I'm impressed with the amount of oem and basic upgrades were able to crush that race and take the flag

That was actual first party Toyota advertising?

    Wow...

    Just...

    Wow.

And they made the already tiny bed tinyer?

How does the not a cooler ice box drain and seal or is it just going to be a freaking mold factory?

T4R and Tacos are done. They have went totally over to the soccer mom crowd and its time for some new options.

Toyota is no longer even close to what it was. Just a mish mash of ehh cars at this point. This commercial disgusted me.

    I think you're right.
    So, 9/18 for 2019MY; article is 10/17.
    The dates can still corelate.

    Here's another, from 5/19.
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1SE0BI

"We still weren't able to improve our costs enough last year," Toyota CFO Koji Kobayashi told reporters...

Seems like a continual trend to me...

Every year I think...this darkness got to give...but no. I'm holding onto my Tacoma because I know one year they'll bring out something really badass and I'll trade for it. We shall, as they say, see.

They keep fucking up and can’t get the new tundra or sequoias out, and everything I’ve read just says more tech and bullshit.

toyota is squid city these days and even their prius and stuff isnt even tops anymore. They’ve settled for mediocrity and it goes further than “toyota keeps it simple”

They still, over twenty years later can’t make a truck frame. It’s pathetic.

Toyota has never been cutting edge. That's how their name is made in reliability. However, at some point everything is still new to them and they have to add new tech just to keep up. Not counting the federally mandated stuff.

You obviously haven’t been watching because reliability has been an issue on the 3rd gen and They STILL are replacing 3rd gen frames cause they won’t get their shit together, there is no excuse for that.

This has nothing to do with cutting edge, it is a complete lack of effort.

I’m well aware of that. Comment was more towards the impression very few people in this thread knew who Andy Bell is and his involvement with Toyota’s off-road racing throughout the years as well as numerous commercials he’s done for the Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner.

    Let's just be honest

The 3rd gen is barely different than the 2nd gen

    Same cab, same frame.

What so you got some small gadget upgrades, different Fenders, and an engine thats been around for a decade
