I'm jealous of your roof bracket for the sunglass holder. I didn't know that was a thing.

Got the paint for the rims. Went with a grayish bronze. $10 a can. Ridiculous inflation. Now I just need time

Ended up removing the driver side floor mat to shake it out today and when I felt the carpet it was soaked.

Apparently there is a bad leak either in the windshield seal or the main door seal. Ended up cutting the wet carpet out to dry it as it was literally drenched and the floorboard had standing water.

have an appointment at the dealer next week to get it inspected and any and all seals replaced that are needed.

Never ending little things to do.

Had to wait 3 days for the shift lock spring to arrive at the dealer to finish the bushing replacement. SO much better. No more play and the key no longer gets stuck. All buttoned up and headed to the dealer this afternoon to diagnose the water issue. Expecting it to be there two or three days.

ordered cup holder rubber grommets as well to replace.

Knocked out the short antenna mod this weekend too. I enjoy not having a 95 ft long antenna anymore. Didn’t affect the signal at all.

Lastly, had to snap a pic after it’s been cooped up in the garage for so long.

contemplating leaving the fenders off but not sure yet. Took them off to prevent salt buildup and I kind of like it.

mulling over removing the nerf bars also. Depends if the kids can get in.

Finally got some time to get the water leak diagnosed myself. Spent $60 for the dealer to look and they couldn’t find it. They did tell me the ac drain was NOT clogged so I guess that helpedo_O

ended up finding the water entry in the cab through the floorboard drain plug grommet. Went through the car wash and the underbody wash came through as can be seen in the first photo.

took the old one off and it was dry rotted and broken so replaced it today and added some construction adhesive for safe measure. don’t want another damn drop coming in. NO. MORE. WET. FLOORBOARDS.

Threw some construction adhesive on the wiring harness grommet/bushing in the firewall as well for water protection. Water was coming in through there as well. Globbed that crap up good. Don’t want another drop. Thanks to @turbodb for the help with this.

Carpet was reinstalled and all trims pieces put back in. Can’t express how much I missed the carpet and the clean look inside.

Nice! I had no idea you could get that part from Toyota. How did you remove the old ones and install the new?

you just remove the center console, flip it over and there are small screws holding the rubber pieces on. Super easy and looks great after

Decided to tackle replacing the plexiglass front window on the cap and finish salvaging all the parts off of the old red cap.

first had to take the old cap off. Oddly nice to see the truck without the cap but once you go cap you can’t go back.

Removed the front window despite fighting crappy aluminum screws. Luckily didn’t strip.

Next traced the hole on cardboard to trace onto the jade green cap.

Next tackled removing the old double sided tape to apply the new. Had to put the heat gun on to get the residue off. Cleaned up nicely and the gorilla tape applied.

for safe measure, applied some exterior caulk after assembly to prevent all water entry. Also replaced the foam tape around the shell to have a better fit not allowing water to enter the bed. Can’t be getting wet when camping.

Snatched up a fiberglass lake boat off of fb marketplace for a steal. Boat and truck are a matching set as the hull is almost jade green like the taco.
