This joker is trying to get $34000 for his 2011 tacoma. This seems to be the crazy price point in my area. I'll never find one at this rate
    http://slo.craigslist.org/cto/4309556715.html
I emailed this guy just for fun to confirm his asking price hahahahah more expensive than a 3 year newer one

He's probably some Cambria dairy farmer who doesn't want to lose any cash on his truck. It probably smells like cow manure inside. I'd check out Paso Robles or even Atascadero if I were you. You could even check out Fresno prices as well. A three hour drive is worth saving $4000 or more.

He's probably trying to recoup the sticker price AND the interest.

Just as bad as the people with 08's trying to sell for $25k. For $4k more you can get brand new. Zero miles and full warranty.
I get it, tacomas hold their value, but they depreciate more then $1k a year.

Keep looking OP. You'll find a realistically priced one soon enough.

What a joke. I was expecting to at least see a nicely built LT truck.

Saw that ad yesterday on craigslist and it made me laugh.

It took me over a year of searching ALL of California to find my truck. But I was VERY specifc (2nd gen, access cab, trd off-road, 4x4, 6-speed, white, low-ish miles).

Finally found what I was looking for in Petaluma back in Dec of 2011. It was a 2005 with 58k on the clock and I got a ripping deal on it (atleast i think).

Don't rush into anything, wait for you want, and if possible do a private party. You can tell a lot about how a truck was treated by talking with the previous owner, and you'll get a better deal (unless it's the ad you posted).

Keep searching, that guy clearly isn't interested in selling his truck. I got my 2011 TRD Sport 4x4 with 16k for $26k, from a dealer! I thought I got a pretty good deal. GLWS

Swing by the "What did you pay" thread. Dudes are getting the works for under $30k, so unless it's a used 2013, paying over $25k isn't worth it.

looking for a good priced tacoma is not easy, it took me 4 months of looking (with no car having to drive my moms mini-van) but i am glad i waited. I found a good deal for 13.9k before tax tag and title and only had 100,000 miles it was at a RV dealership that was 3 hours away, and the reason why he said it was so cheap is because it was a 6-speed, why i don't know but that is what i was looking for.
