This means my AC clutch is junk, Right?

I think mine is a common story of lament. I live in a cold state and didn't think to turn on my AC this year. It worked on a road trip in April. I went to use it last week, and pressing the AC button caused the button light to turn on a shut off after a few seconds. I did this a few times, and on the last attempt there was a horrible squealing sound from the belt area. So, I stopped pressing the button, LOL.

This is a picture of AC condenser/pulley. Does that burnt out rubber mean my clutch is junk? How could I tell if my condenser is also bad? Is this a DIY job or a mechanic job?

Squealing sound is the belt trying to turn a seized compressor.

Unsure if it is the clutch or not (certainly seems like it could be the case), but if you do need one I've got a new Toyota/OEM unit I got to see if they interchange with 2nd gen compressors when they were on national backorder (they don't - physically bolt up, but different plate thickness leaves too much air gap on 2G). If you wind up needing/wanting it, let me know. I think I paid about $160 for it but would be open to a reasonable offer..good luck!

This actually is more like it..probably going to need more than a clutch unfortunately. I'd put a marker or paint stripe on the pulley, let it idle and have someone flip the air on real quick and see if it spins or not to confirm.

The physical replacement of a compressor is a DIY job, but the evacuation of the expensive 1234 refrigerant is not.

I’ve done some AC work where I took the vehicle in and had the system drained, did my work and had it recharged. My work was some very custom hose and tubing rerouting.

No comment on what your real problem is as there is not yet enough information, follow the other advice before continuing.
