I want to add a sub to my truck and found a deal on this sub with a amp for 100. Let me know what y'all think and if it will fit

Are you willing to remove the black plastic behind the seats? Only way for you to know for sure is to go yank that black shit out and measure...unless you were hoping somebody on here has that same sub/box, in which case this post will act as a bump!

 

i was thinking bout trying to make it fit in the plastics if possible otherwise i was gonna cut them to fit it.
and just looking for what other people have for a system.

 

Well I have two JL microsubs back there and I absolutely love them, but I had to remove the plastic for them to fit.

 

A got link for the subs? Easy install? Cheap?
I wanna get a sub but not sure what really. I don't need to be heard blocks away just want a lil extra bump

They sound absolutely fantastic, but they definitely aren't the cheapest things on the market. You'll need a decent sized amp, I have a JL 500/1 for the two of them. One of these would be perfect to add a bit of bump, two of them can really bump. Everybody is completely shocked to hear that I just have 2 8s because they can pound pretty damn hard.

I had my whole system installed at a shop because I wanted it to look nice and sound even better and I just had no confidence in my skillz. It was spendy but to date the most worthwhile purchase I've made for my truck. Here's a pic of what's behind my seats...

 

Damn that nice. Maybe I'll stop by a local audio shop and see what they think

 

I just realized those that I linked already have the amp installed and attached...that's pretty nifty, but not what I have. Mine were just the sub and box and I want to say I payed something like $200-250 each. They also make them in a 10" version so you could look into that as well.

Be careful at the shop, every time I go into one of those places just to look around I end up leaving with about 2 grand less than when I entered lol

 

I love my kickers but we built a custom box for mine and removed the storage behind the seats

 

Yea I would like to do it myself but not sure what good stuff is anymore. I haven't bought subs since high school lol like 10 years ago

 

That's a badass setup! I had two 10" kicker cvrs in my 4Runner and they sounded awesome. Then I went into a shop just to look around and before you know it I had two 15" RF P3s haha

 

Same for us, we use to do nothing but stereo stuff when we were younger,lol. but you can research so much DIY stuff nowadays it was really easy. It was time consuming and luckily the hubby is a Jack of all trades!

yea i wanna do the work myself but just wanna see ideas and stuff before i pull the trigger on anything

 

Ok guys I picked up that sub and amp.I Wanna install the sub on the passenger side and amp on the driver's side. Should I cut the plastic bin to fit the sub or just remove it. What you guy recommend?

 

I removed mine in case I ever wanna sell or trade in my truck it would be easy to just pop back in and put it back to stock.

 

Yeah, I personally wouldn't want to cut it up, but if you really want to you should post up a thread in the marketplace and see if you could get an extra one. I've seen members looking to get rid of them from time to time, that way you'd have an extra that you could experiment with!
