Hey guys. This only seems to happen in winter months, but when I am turning my wheel while stopped, or driving slowly over bumps and potholes, I get this horrible squeaking that is loud and embarassing. What would it be?

I cannot tell you where that is coming from, but I can tell you that turning the wheels while stopped causes a lot of wear on the steering components as does turning the wheels to the max and hitting the stops. If you have done that much perhaps you wore something out. ;)

A warranty repair, I'd assume. I'd let it be the dealers problem, that would drive me nuts.

I can't watch your videos on my phone, but i also was having a horrible squeaking/creaking noise. It was brought to my attention by another member that it was the hood.

Try this and see if the noise goes away. Stand on the door sill and get the truck to rock back and forth. If you can reproduce the sound open the hood and repeat the rocking. If the noise goes away, it's the hood supports or rubber seals.

I sprayed white lithium on the plastic hood supports where they make contact with the truck. It took a few days, but i don't hear the noise anymore.

I never turn the wheel to the max, but I noticed turning the wheel while stopped or going slow made the similar noise that's why I took a video of it. What's the warranty on our Toyotas? It's a 2013 but already have 60,000 km

Since it happens on slow bumps and turning the wheel not moving it almost sounds like one of your balljoints or tierod ends are dry or worn. Unfortunately on these trucks the aren't greasable so that mean it will need to be replaced if that is the case.

That sounds about right. I looked everywhere for grease nipples before because I figured they were dry, none in sight. That sucks.. They shouldn't be going already, on a good note I think it's only the driver side...

I will definitely try it, it wouldn't explain the similar squeak it does when I turn the wheels though. I'll try thanks.

Yeah, it's just something worth checking. When I first heard mine I assumed it was suspension related because it's sounds identical to it. I actually couldn't believe the hood would make that much noise.

Have you check your upper shock mount bushings? Mine were ever so slightly worn and they would squeak similar to what you were saying. Can you duplicate the squeak if you rock the truck side to side?
