Well first, there is a big demographic that doesn't want a full size at any price. But yes, I touched on this earlier and am glad to hear you had the same experience....

You go in for a Canyon and they sell you a Silverado. lol. I think that's just GMs F'd up way.....that adds do this (overly dramatic titled) thread that I made. 40k+ Canyons, no incentives on Colorado's/huge incentives on Silverados....they aren't making enough trucks to begin with.... they are setting themselves up to be buried, yet again, by Toyota.

They really need to work on the Tundra.. I'd love to get the 5.7L because of the towing capabilities, but not at the cost of 12 mpg.
They need to break the 20 mpg barrier with the full size trucks. I don't understand why they haven't done it. This is the main reason Toyota
can't compete in the full size arena. If they made a Tundra with mpg numbers comparable to GM or Ford, I'd be all over it.

And yes, there is no way I'd pay 40k+ for a Canyon OR Colorado.

Yes, the Tundra MPG is pathetic, but break 20 mpg? No way. Toyota's whole thing is durability and reliability, they're building badass TRUCKS....they aren't going to put all their efforts into making a truck seem more like a car, only to fall apart around you in every other way. Let's shoot for 17/18 with the Tundra, haha.

Whats so good about the 155 hp Miata, honestly. That's less HP than my old 1994 Del sol 1.6L. Damn that car was fun to take near 8500 rpm. I had more fun in that than my current Toyota turbo with considerably more power. 17 years later and 85 HP short of the 1999 introduced S2000, pretty weak.

I have 2007 DCLB V6 4x4. You can check yourself but my 2007 DCLB has higher payload and towing than 2016 same model ...
Don't believe me go ahead and check. :D
Compare to 2007 thats a wimp mobile, not going to mention the fact that at lower RPMS 1GR kills wimpy motor in torque.

Good God. :deadhorse: Hasn't this talking point been beat to death? Just because someone gets a mid-size doesn't mean they are poor. It means they want a mid-size. Don't ever expect price and size to be proportional.

Yeah people don't understand this its not only about money.
The difference between full-size and midsize is couple hours looking for a spot in NY to park. Get full-size and you can only go to NY or Boston on the weekends because no way to find enough space to park that. Most cities on east coast are like that.
Midsize is the max you want to go, compact truck would be perfect.
The one thing with Colorado Diesel sucks is that Government will be able to order them with smallest version of Colorado (no minimum size) I guess in two years we should be able to buy some from government auctions than. Reg cab diesel would be awesome.

Sure would be nice to have a midsize that could pull that much (plus passengers and cargo) up a 7% grade without being floored in 2nd/3rd gear engine screaming, and getting about 5mpg. And the ~325 mile range from a 21 gallon tank while towing. As opposed to ~200 mile range from the same tank with a gas V6.

Consumer reports predicts new Silverados to be 95% below average reliabilty. It's what stopped me cold in my tracks. At the time discounts were around 8 grand on a 2015

I believe it. They scare the hell out of me when I think about GM reliability compared to my Taco. I'm sure it's not even close.
I need a truck with Taco like reliability that can tow 8000 lbs.. It's a dilemma.

Not to mention, a lot of people don't want their entire driveway taken up. No idea where this idea came from, considering no one questions buying a 911 over a full size sedan e.g. Lincoln town car the same way.

Sure, some people just want a mid size for the reasons you mentioned. City parking, driveway space, etc.. There are also many people that go for bang for the buck. Many people who are looking a mid size are more apt to size up if the price is competitive as with the Colorado/Silverado. Price IS a factor for many mid size truck purchases. Some folks can't afford to put out 45k for a full size Silverado, but when they offer them for 35K, it changes the game.

I do not want a full size truck... simple as that... for all the points already covered here and in many other threads. I like the size of the Tacoma and the Canyon... in SB form... not even want them in LB... that is enough for me.

Dude! Really!? Go drive one... It is a driver's car... plain and simple. Sometimes is more fun to drive a less powerful car fast than a powerful car fast... you get to exploit the car and really put it through its paces...

I had a 2002 Porsche 996 Twin Turbo... pretty frigging fast car (took it to Seibring up to 157mph, and some stupid 188mph runs in a closed course :D )... but the car made me feel too detached from the road, like driving a fast Camry... where the 1993 Miata I had was a blast on rails...

My daily driver now is a FIAT 500 Abarth and this thing has the heart and sound of a Lamborghini! lol... fun fun fun... but as soon as I get my truck, this one goes to my daughter...

For some reason they ake no predictions on the f150. They love the ram 1500 and it ranks the highest in every category except reliability.
