Went to Greybull yesterday for the Cloud Peak Drags. Just some old school, arm drop, 1/8th mile drag racing. Super simple. Super fun.

They had just resurfaced the strip so traction was an issue for everybody all day. Got a little better as the day went on and the asphalt heated up a little bit, but not much. I made 7 passes in the GTO, won 4 of them. The launch was definitely the make it or break it for every run, especially being only an 1/8th mile.

Overall a great day. GTO did well and ran good. Definitely will be needing some new tires soon. A fresh tune will go a long way as well. Runs very rich right now so there's room to pull some more power out of it.

Time for the obligatory 5 month later thread update :anonymous:

Haven't done much of anything but enjoy the hell out of the GTO. Really enjoy this car and have a lot of fun with it.

A couple months ago I hit a god damn deer. Fortunately was not going very fast. I pulled over expecting the worst....Literally no damage aside from a broken headlight lens. I can say with confidence that my old WRX would have not taken that hit nearly as well. This thing is built like a tank.

They were cheapo aftermarket headlights so I wasn't worried about it since I planned to replace with OEM...which are certainly not the cheapest headlights on the market. So about $800 later I have used OEM headlights.

Yes, I drive it in the snow sometimes. Yes, it's terrifying.

The car is just a blast though, and the looks of confusion never get old. It really is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I talked with a tuner yesterday about setting up time to get on a Dyno. The car is not tuned for the altitude or the larger injectors that are in it so it's running rich. I haven't seen the AFR's dip below 11's at WOT so it's not horrible but just needs some tweaking. If it is hurting it then it proves how stout the LS motors really are cause I've beaten the shit out of it on multiple occasions.

Really have no plans to do anything to it in the near future. When the time comes, coilovers and some wheels will likely be the first thing.

Been pretty slow with photo stuff as well, but hopefully that changes when the weather warms up a little. I picked up a DJI Ronin M, so I'm gearing into video a bit more now as well.

Haha thanks man. Whether you put a lot of time into it or not, it's still fun. I'd go for it.

I have to blame @Blackdawg @BabyTaco and @SconnieHailer and the rest of the friends of the Wyo crew. Never would have gotten a camera if it wasn't for those guys.

    Thanks buddy

Everyone has time for photography. Just take photos when you are out doing your other hobbies. I love documenting my life...even if I am never in the photos...
