and why the correct answers and reccomendations need to be followed.

Ok, maybe a stupid question here...But if they had let off the gas and triggered the brake controller override, wouldn't that have probably saved most of them???

Ive seen this shit happen right in front of me. Dude was hauling a skid steer clearly not loaded properly, trailer got away on him and sling shotted him into the ditch. Weight distribution. Learn about it lol.

I have personally only towed my travel trailer (TT) and a car hauler. With my TT, I always hook up my WDH and I always pack everything in the front of the trailer. So far, haven't had an issue. But from what I have been told, if it starts to sway, let off the gas and activate the brake controller with your hand. Don't touch the truck brakes.

Could also be titled "Inexperienced drivers going too fast". Some of those detachments are pretty scary.

Years ago I was driving behind a woman in an suv with a 10x8 flatbed trailer. After driving through an intersection the trailer became fully disconnected, drifted through the oncoming lane, and luckily only crashed into an empty construction lot.

She had initially asked her 16 and 14 year old sons to hook up the trailer. After getting out to help her reconnect it, it became increasingly obvious that the boys never seated the hitch ball. They also didn’t use either of the safety chains. They also couldn’t plug in the trailer lights as there was no connector.

Simple issues that could be avoided with a little diligence. Great Video!

I'm no expert by any means, but it seems like most of those crashes were due to either speeding (coming up to pass a vehicle) or possibly too low of tongue weight. The very ending of the video when the guy pulled into the gas station was scary, the whole top fell onto the vehicle. Hope everyone was okay.

Lot of factors involved in these accidents but I’d say the number one factor was speed. Pulling a trailer 75 and 80 plus mph (even if legal) is just plane dangerous. The tow vehicles and trailers are just not designed adequately to tow at high speeds. At those speeds while towing the slightest steering correction can be catastrophic. Even a strong side wind gust can be catastrophic.
