Officially they say does not fit Gen 3. Is there a fit reason or just a marketing reason. When I called a dealershit (sic) about it they said $180 for Gen 3 compatible. parts.camelbacktoyota.com says $34.25, and I can drive there easily.

I just installed it in my 2023 TRD Pro a few weeks ago. Fit perfectly.

It bolts directly to the bed using the original hardware. i cant imagine what would be different in the "compatible" one...

No, I would not trust those....they are simply nut-serts for M6 bolts.

I'd consider bolting down a piece of L- track in one of the grooves in the middle of the bed and then you put cleats where ever you need them. I'm not sure why trucks don't just come this way.

It’s right under your nose hometown!

Add two of the factory tie down points and you’re in business. 4 strong tie down points. Add more if necessary. They are not that expensive.

Don’t trust those two holes you’re asking about. Take a strong hold of the rail and you can move it with one hand.
