I just installed my Extang Solid Fold and had a question about the latches and the adapters that came with the tonneau.

Did you guys use those silver adapters/brackets slide onto the bed rails?

I currently have the latches from the tonneau clipped onto the bed rails without using the silver adapters.

Wondering if it has any long term issues, or any other problems that can arise from mounting it this way.

I used all the hardware provided, in other word those silver pices that bolts on the the bed rails. If your tonneau cover flies off onto another vehicle you most likely will be responsable. If you use all the hardware provided and it flies off then you have a chance to blame the manufacturer. Just my $0.02 worth.

Very good point, I will probably go ahead and install the brackets. Didn't think of it in that aspect, of what could happen.
