Around here, manicure / pedicure parlors or convenience stores. Weirdly, not drug stores?

Thanks! IMHO there is a big part of me that doubts that I'll actually get it. It does appear to be a salvaged vehicle that has a rear left that had to be remade. From the pictures it looks like it has been rebuilt quite well, and looks beautiful. For the price they're listing it at tho, I just have doubts that it is actually what I am looking for. There just has to be some other catches that aren't listed...idk. I guess I'll find out.

    Nah, second gear.

I'm confident I shift far less than the automatic does, but that doesn't really say much nowadays.

Oh yeah. Unless it is a fair price considering the history, skip it if it is your 1st car that you plan on having for work and going to isolated areas, esp early in the time that you have it.

There are a lot of others out there. Just wait it out.

There is likely nothing that will be bad, but it is a risk you would want to test as a second vehicle or something like that.

    Here are the details:

    Description
    Year : 2015
    Make : Toyota
    Model : Tacoma
    Trim : TRD
    Engine : 4.0L
    Number of Cylinders : 6
    Transmission : Manual
    Mileage : 64591
    Exterior Color : White
    Interior Color : Gray
    Drive Type : 4WD
    Body Type : SUV

they're asking just over 10k for it...

Thing is...I need a vehicle within these next couple weeks, and Tacomas are hard to find right now for my price range and what I'm looking for.

Thats super cheap for where Tacomas are right now. Make sure it doesn't have problems before you put money on it.

I'd delete the VIN if you're gonna buy it.

Wow. I'd say the price is right given the year, mileage, and possible proper repair work. If you go down the path, find a competent shop to have it inspected. The area of damage, the entire frame, and driveline, esp the 4wd system.

And THOROUGH Test drive. Run it through all of the gears, get it up to highway speeds, shift into 4 Hi and Lo and back to 2wd, run through the gears again. Check the clutch - get to around 15-20 miles an hour and shift into 5th and hammer the throttle, if the RPMs go up the clutch is slipping.

And remember that just because the price is right doesn't mean it's the right car for you. At your age I had my first Supra which was constantly plaguing me with problems and I did not want to deal with it, but it was a car at the right price. I was fortunate enough to have a DD and rather than being a fun weekend car, it ended up being a project that I didn't want to bother with. Don't put yourself in a situation where your DD is a project.

Fortunately Tacomas are more reliable than engine swapped Supras.

That said, I hope this works out for you, and I think we all look forward to seeing pictures.

I don’t think they give themselves enough credit for being able to learn. But then it’s true that some old dogs still can and some young ones never could. You can rationalize anything but without the experiencing both you don’t really know. I’ve had both manual and auto 4WD trucks so my BS works for me.

    That is always the key.

I disabled hill hold on all my cars.

STI implementation was terrible and you are more likely to stall.

    Hellcat was terrible too.

The problem is accumulator that makes the clutch bite vague, take that out and hill start is easy peasy.

    Not really.

First and second is plenty enough for surface street at such low speed. I don't worry about the extra 2 sips of gas leaving it in gear might cost me.

The HA on the MT SRs and Sports is in the ABS pump and is electronically controlled. It doesn't work when the key is off, but will when the ignition is on and the engine is not running.

I'm curious how this could be disabled?

I find my clutch to be fine, just the way it is.

I press and hold that traction control button for 5 seconds which turns everything off. I
My initial reaction was that it was fine.

After accumulator was removed the bite is very precise because there is nothing slowing down your clutch.

I don't know why slowing down clutch bite ever become a thing, it's not necessary.

Way faster and better than the pos auto tacos, OVT on manual and clutch accumulator delete mod are the best things you can do to these trucks. Runs like a raped ape
