As a few pointed out to me in a previous thread, the Tune system is great if you know your way around computers which I don't. The method that worked for me was going with a product called sprint booster. $269 out the door (It's currently 20 bucks off, no tax, and no S/H). I love this thing and my Tacoma is faster than shi* !

You most likely mis-read what Edmunds said, guessing it said 98 percent of brand new car sold today are automatic. That is a big difference from total cars on the road as there are plenty of older manuals being driven.

Yup all stock . I’m not trying to get rid of it just not very satisfied with the transmission atm so I figure I do the ov tune to correct some of the issues from factory programming.

That accumulator is a bastard. It’s like a condom, it makes things “safer” but it’s way better without it, and you’ll never want it again.

I did not read the entire thread and I'm guessing someone said this already, but the best reason for the third pedal is that it prevents people from borrowing my truck.
Not that I'd let that happen anyways- between the 1KZ swap and the GFC, I just don't want to be in the situation of dealing with a friend getting it into an accident and putting them on the hook for the bill to repair/replace. But since so few people under 30 know how to drive a manual trans, I rarely have to think of another reason to say no.

Friend: "So can I borrow your truck to move a [large furniture thing]?"
Me: "Do you know how to drive a manual car?"
    Friend: "No..."
    Me: "..."

Is there a 2Lo option for third gen ? That would be the shizzle for backing up a trailer.

Imagine being in low gear, but only running the rear wheels. No binding when turning on pavement. It’s f’n awesome. I’m sure someone has come up with a magic box for you guys. Search.

Don't get me wrong BillDaCat8, I am not a SME on four wheel drive vehicles, I've just never heard the term "2Lo". Could be a Regional phrase I guess. :burnrubber:

I use to look down on "drivers" with automatic. Then i sat through traffic moving one mile in one hour in Northern Va. one very hot miserable summer day. Yep , Europe and the Islands manuals were the deal. I loved it in my BMW's and 911`s. Now i am older and do not want to see a manual...even more after blowing out my Achilles in a senior doubles rennis match.

Idk at this point, I’m trying to remember what truck I’ve seen 2 lo in. I’ve been messing around with a lot of small tractors lately so maybe that’s why it’s on my mind

For overall control. No hunting for gears on inclines, no times where you want more and suddenly the auto downshifts too many gears. Great for winter driving where you need a lower gear to manage speed without brakes.

Yes, the downside is if in heavy heavy traffic you will want the auto, but otherwise. . .
