Well said and Amen Brother. My current 2020 Tacoma has 31,000 miles and it's the last pickup truck I will ever own. :burnrubber:

    Mr Jurist,
Welcome to the conversation. Looking at your profile, you seem to be a very squared away young man. Army....Rad Tech......Manuel transmission.....Very nice. Are you by chance a 74D ? Are you at FLW ?

Oh Ok sorry. The "Rad Tech" title pointed me back to Ft Leonard Wood that's all. It's a Radiation (Nuclear) course I was familliar with back in the day. :burnrubber:

Have you seen the Jeep wrangler electric prototype that was built a year or so ago? It has 3 pedals and an electric motor. When I saw it I thought "there is hope", but they stated that it would never see production. I've always liked the idea of a wrangler, just never the reliability.. That one might have been enough to get my money.. I guess we'll never know.. The idea of a manual that won't stall is pretty cool. The best of both worlds, gears and control, but you only need the clutch for changes. Stop and go would no longer be a reason for people to avoid them. Maybe manuals could make a comeback with electric motors since the masses wouldn't have to be afraid of them. I guess the real challenge is the instant torque eating friction plates and crunching syncros.. I wonder if gears could yield more efficiency allowing the use of lower torque electric motors and extending battery life? I don't know enough about them to guess...

I feel similar, after 3 yrs and also driving tractor trailer regularly... im kinda over the M/T as far as daily driving.
    I don't regret purchasing an M/T however.

Great offroading imo to be a manual over auto(regardless of dummy buttons) Currently searching for a second vehicle to daily and keep my M/T for fun and getting myself into trouble now and then. Ideally an auto, stock 3rd gen 4runner, or 2nd gen tacoma as a daily.

I feel the frustration traffic wise and what not. But I only bought this truck to wheel anyhow.

I had two of them, a 2003 and a 2010. Loved 'em both. Put enough weight in the back and they could rip your house off its foundation.

I enjoy and prefer a manual transmission. I can drive it the way I want depending on mood. I can cruise and relax in high gear or I can rip through the gears pretending that I am driving one of my 5.0L Mustangs back in the days of my misspent youth. I never even considered an automatic.

There is an electric Mustang prototype also that is a MT, it allowed you to drive it either as an AT or MT.

Is it the 4 door stang? I feel the late 80’s looked the best.

i'm attempting to wrap my head around this idea of more control with a 3 pedal electric and clutch setup. all the control is just the accelerator with an electric setup, why are you trying to slip? you don't need slip, you just need to modulate torque delivery simply at the accel pedal, right? that's why we slip with a ICE that doesn't have immediate and clear torque control like an electric and requires spinning into the powerband... am i missing something? i mean, i'm a die hard of die hards for MTs but i don't want superfluous complexity. i want 3 pedals with an ICE for sure, but if i had an electric i wouldn't. or is this just a for-fun distraction?

I thought the Honda CR-Z was pretty neat, a hybrid available with either a 6 speed manual or a CVT.

I think it was just for fun, if l remember what l read about it correctly you could drive it like a regular MT or flip a switch and stick it in 3rd and drive it like an AT.

If memory serves me it was called a Mustang Lithium, think it was at a SEMA show a couple years ago.

My old neighbor has a newer mustang, I loved it when he would start it remotely without the “neighbor” setting. So fucking loud. My kids caught off guard would all be like geezuz.
