New to the forum, new to Tacoma’s and trucks in general. Please forgive me. I read that I couldn’t and also that I could fit them without issue.. So after all that I decided to put 285/75r16 on my truck. I was naive and thought I was going to be able to avoid the rub but nope. I’m getting a bit in the middle of rear wheel well. What is my best route to get rid of this issue (other than downsizing)? I’ve read about cmc, pinch weld, etc but I’m an unsure of what the details of these procedures are. Anybody local in San Diego willing to lend a helping hand? You will be handsomely rewarded

I assume you installed them on stock wheels? Yeah, I have heard both sides of this. Can you tell how bad it rubs? Is it barely or undrivable? I wonder if a spacer lift for now would work. Like a 2 inch

I should have added that, sorry! I’m on 16x8, 0 offset methods. Also running 5100s up front to level.
It’s not terrible. I’ve only heard it coming in to my driveway basically at full lock. Little worse on the driver side than passenger.

I saw a few people on line say how they work with stock wheels. Maybe try that first?

I love the wheels haha. I may just go back down to 265/75 and avoid a headache. Unless there’s any easy solution

Try thosectires on your stock wheels. It may solve the problem for very little expense

Doesn't hurt to ask. I (think) he travels around some. Not positive about that tho. He's a good dude.

The alignment on a lifted truck is different than a stock one. Unless you tell them where to set the alignment you’re going to rub because they’ll do a factory alignment on the truck. A lifted alignment will not be in the “green”. For a second gen those numbers were 3 on caster 0 on camber and 0 on toe. Believe the third gen is running a little over 3 on caster.

If your wheels push the tire out any you’re going to rub on turns because the arc of the tire is wider with the wheel pushed out any.

Get ready to spend some money. Ucas and cmc will be needed, and a good alignment.

He may be able to get away with just UCA’s and a good alignment.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to start with CMC and work from there. It's so cheap and it really isn't easy to spot unless you're looking for it.
