Well hello and thanks or the add! Pretty exited about my first tacoma He's a 2002 with 196 ish on the clock. bought it with sticker on it that said ill be your Huckleberry (hints the name) at the beginning of October2019. Its set up pretty well (so i thought) with a five speed, old man emu suspension, arb front air locker, rear electric locker, arb bumper, and a warn8000. Well two days after perching i dropped it off at at our local linx dealer to get the bed done. They had it done by after noon and looked grate. When i pulled in the parking lot i saw a puddle of oil under the front axle. went to get in it to pop the hood. The air pump and locker where on, popped the hood and the oil came out of the breather for the axle. I went home to check the oil level and investigate a little more. Pulled the skid plates off only to see that the winch was broken. I found the part for the winch 44 dollars isn't too bad. From what i can tell is that the seals on the arb are bad. found the hole assembly for 89. But still not sure if that what it is. Will driving it in two wheel drive, on dry pavement, in small parking lot cause this to happen? Any help with this would be grate. thanks in advance.

    I will say Welcome !!

You did not question before leaving the shop why your locker was engaged and a pool of oil under the truck??

    Shame on You !!

Not knowing where you live perhaps the tech took the truck for a test run wanting to play with the cool toys ?

Your saying you bought the truck with no real idea of what you were buying??

So overcome with Tacoma Lust you paid the money and went home.

I can`t see moving the truck around in a parking lot even if in 4low causing major problems but things happen

i dont think the shop would of taken out somewhere. When i was at the shop i told them about it. They said that some one must of hit it with there knee on accident. I believe them, do to pore placement of the switches and to have a shop look at it. I'm not blaming them but this is the exact reason i don't normally let people work on my stuff.I took it home and think that it is most likely the seals. I just would like to know viable solutions to the issue. When i test drove the tuck ever thing seemed fine. Winch worked and didn't notice any oil anywhere. I've built and owned jeeps and broncos and wheeled a fair amount. So i'm not new to the game. However i am new to the arbs. My world used to consisted of true tracks and detroit lockers before this. I'm from desmoines ia

I think so also. I'm hoping to preform an exorcism. Just hoping to get some advice from some of you guys that may or may not had the same or simpler issues. Before i fully dig in to it.

I always recommend people buying a used vehicle get a professional pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Another set of skilled eyes that have no emotional connection to the vehicle is all part of that “buyer beware” advice.

    Good luck with your issue.
