Yea...Here's a pic from yesterday after I picked her up.....I just went outside and it does say "Sport" and it is definately a 4WD....I would never get a 2WD.

Never noticed the "Sport" badging I guess. Just thought TRD meant 4WD and RLD.

No biggie...I now have a project.

It was an impulse buy. One day I saw it next I bought it....I wanted a white 4wd Taco DC LB and just assumed it came w/RLD.

The ARB air locker is your best aftermarket choice. Kits go from $700 to $1200 depending on the air compressor setup you run, plus install if you can't do it yourself.

Shop around, there always seem to be different deals, like: buy locker get the compressor free, or buy complete kit for free install at shop, you can sometimes find never-installed kits from private, or used compressors, etc.

There are other options too but ARB is the best IMO.

I do occasionally see the stock TRD OR electronic diff-lock for sale when owners upgrade to an ARB...

Dude, that is an absolutely beautiful truck. I would have been impulsed to buy also! Personally I would not care if it had a locker or not with 4X4 and all the other current "keep you on the path" electronical devices. Besides that one is too purty to dirty up too much. Congrats!

TRD Off Road has a locker but not necessarily 4WD. The Prerunner (2WD) can be a TRD OR as well and has the locker.

....research before buying FTW. TRD OffRoad, with the locker, only comes in double cab shortbed. DCLBs are only TRD Sport. I wouldn't care for something with a wheelbase as long as the DCLB when driving off tarmac anyway.

Get the rear spring TSB and transmission TSB done?

That Make Me Feel So Much Better!!!!!!!!!:D

I need the LB.... SB's arn't real trucks IMO.

I used the Rear Locker mabe 3 times in the 4 yrs I owned the Titan.

It did save my ass those times though.

^ I have a sport dc lb also and let me tell you. I use that extra foot of bed space 1000x more than i would a rear locker.

^lol. Nope no war. Whatever makes the individual owner happy thats all that matters. Honestly if I was younger I'd do the sb but now as a homeowner i end up hauling alot more than i would if i was 21.

+1. I like the looks of the short bed, it just didn't meet my needs when I was looking to buy. It is all about personal preference not which is better.

I was able to get 4 35" Nitto Terra Grapplers in the bed with a little room left over. I don't need to haul a lot of stuff and I use my truck for the trails. Therefore, the Off-Road and short bed make off-roading a little easier for me. There have been a couple of times where the truck was a little too long and had to make three-point turns to get around corners on the trail. The other thing I like about the Off-Road is that it does come with the rear locker, but it also has A-Trac which is only available with the rear locker.
