Hello everybody, so I have a few KC Cyclone lights and did not know what to do with them.

I ended giving @MESO a call and the USPS dropped this at my door.

    56A76FC6-E241-45FB-9AC3-1AFBF0C3007F.jpg

Should I color key the housing OEM 1E7 Silver Streak Mica OR keep it flat black??

Now, for the reason of this post. The poll, should I go All 4 RED KC Cyclone lights - ALL BREAK, NO CARGO LIGHTS

    E0B8B5D7-2988-4945-8E5E-BCA613D979BA.jpg

Or should I go Two RED KC Cyclone lights and Two White Diffused KC Cyclone lights

Any help and/or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Rick

Red inside, 2 white outside. Having the whites further apart increases your light spread.
I’d also paint the PCB boards black inside the cyclones, make them not stand out as much.
Color match might look ok, but can never go wrong with black accents.

Thanks Stew! You are right, black accents never let you down. BTW, what black paint did you used?? Will need to repaint whole fixture after mock-up, want to have it nice and clean - ZERO scratches.

Any ideas/suggestions on what to use for gasket between fixture and cab?? OEM??

    Thanks!

Yes it was designed to retain the OEM gasket seal. The paint is SEM black primer. I would not use that long term as it does not hold up well to scratching. It’s jist a good filler/sealer primer for the plastic.

So, spray painting the PCB boards will not affect it? I’m sure paint is conductive, any thoughts?

Also, if the PCB boards can be painted, how do I do it? What do I need to mask, etc.

AND, what spay paint do you recommend on top of the SEM primer??

any krylon black paint. Spray over everything, Qtip with acetone and wipe the LED face off.
    See postHERE

Blacked out looks much better and does not affect output.

that's great for a smooth look. If you want any type of texture, underbody coating works well too.

I have a 06 DCLB, I was thinking of wiring the red lights directly to the break lights, and the cargo white tap them to the dome light lights for a “auto” power up when opening doors.

Can you explain a little bit the diagram that you sent? I’m not an electrical genius, but with a little guidance I can get it done. I am VERY familiar with my Taco.

I was thinking of using the OEM cargo switch but have not figured out where to place it...

Any other options/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

This shows the center KC Cyclone's replacing the OEM center stop lamps. The Relay is a 5 pin which has 87a & 30 Normally Closed (NC), so without any power they are connected to provide the power when stop/brake is selected.

You should make a lens that is blacked out but when you stop, the word “BREAK” lights up.
