What are the pros and cons to these kits?

They sag easily. Made purely for lifting, not to carry weight

Done it. Hated it. Upgraded to leaf pack. Do it right the first time or not at all. No sense in wasting money just to keep

I have AAL for lift, airbags for capacity. If you have the $ or the willpower to not need to lift right away, get upgraded spring packs. You get the lift and better ride quality than an AAL on OE leaf packs.

I have a Wheeler's 2" single leaf AAL, and the ride's great (a little firmer than the factory leafs alone). It's been on for a little over a year, and has yet to sag. I wouldn't mind if it sagged a little either way. If I lost an inch, I would still have +1" of rake.

I've had mine in since 2008. I put them in for carrying capacity and to assist the non TSB springs, not lift. No complaints here.

Pros: Easy to do, inexpensive, and work as advertised.
Cons: A full replacement leaf pack will often be "better" and some AALs are pretty shitty.

I also did an 86 W100 Dodge back in the early 90s. I put them in that for lift, not weight.

I had one on my 1st gen, it's exactly what everyone has said. You get the lift, but not the weight capacity or ride quality. If you're on a budget it's a cheap option, but upgrading is highly encouraged when the funds are available.
