Unless you actually want to secure cargo in the bed. Can you lock a soft topper? For the price of some of these fiberglass canopies, why not consider something stronger and more durable like an RLD or RSI?

Just picked this up. Very happy with it.
I asked the dealer if they were still having trouble with Snugtop. They said absolutely, yes. Apparently, the problem is with inexperienced staff during shipment. They just received a batch of shells, and five were damaged when one slid off the top rack and slammed into the five below because it was improperly secured.

Another interesting anecdote: they said that A.R.E. was the only company who hasn’t really been jacking up their prices. Other companies have increased prices 6 times in the past year and a half. Leer apparently tried to increase prices on existing orders. They retracted after some very angry dealers suggested they would no longer carry the brand.

Nice! What’s your application for this? And to clarify, you cannot access the bed from the sides, only crawling through the back; so what is the purpose of the side windows that only open from the inside?

I do a lot of hunting. So, I load up camping and hunting gear in back. I also haul big game back there when I get lucky.

The windows provide ventilation when sleeping or for dogs in back.

Have you thought about one of those prinsu racks with the air foil? I wonder if that would move the airflow away enough to quiet it down and increase mpg.

I have a Yakima load bar with a fairing that does the same thing but it’s marginally better

It covers stuff and then can be taken down easily if you need to carry tall stuff/remove in a hurry

i honestly don’t see hardly anyone running them around. My buddy at work has one and I asked him the same thing, and what he uses it for and he just shrugged his shoulders :notsure:

Not much into the look personally. For thirty years I’ve used various methods to stow things including in the back seating area for fragility, in cross over boxes for security and with Kong Boxes for volume. One of my buds has a leer. It looks like shit but he’s proud of it.
