Found an 06 Double Cab priced under $13000 with over 175000 miles. One owner. Is this worth the risk?

As long as it was well maintained, all should be good. Most common things to go wrong on the higher millage trucks, are window regulators, and other minor electrical things.

I'm not very good about seeing any problem issues. I will poke around and check for rust. This could run well over 300,000 mikes, right?

Where do you live? There may be some members nearby that have a scan gauge, they can use to check the health of the systems in the truck, and lend a hand in inspecting it.

That is an awesome deal. 1st gen trucks with that mileage go for about 11-12k at dealers around here. Like Chris said as long as it is clean and maintained well it should have plenty of years left in it.

There should be little to no problems with it. One hand in the cookie jar for that amount of miles is great. It's better than a car with less miles and has 5 hands that were previously in the cookie jar. As long that all the maintenance was done then you should be good. Just check for the rust issue. If there isn't something that you're not sure of you can take it to an actual mechanic and have it inspected. But you should be good to go.

Check the motor mounts. I remember reading something about motor mounts cracking/collapsing or something like that on some of the early 2nd gens. I bought an 05 dclb that i kept for about 2 years. it had no issues at all and it had 90k when i bought it. Like others have said, get all the maint. history you can on it b4 you buy.

New engine and tranny though since previous owner didnt put oil bolt back in after a change.

"Under" 13,000 for an '06 with almost 200k on it sounds pretty high.

My '08 (5 lug RC) was $13,500 with 53k on it.

Is that a 4x4 or Prerunner?

You sound like my two roommates. Their 05' Lancer they have almost 200,000 km's on it(bought new). Original wipers, front windshield, rims. Never had a transmission flush, coolant flush. Even the dip stick was rusted to where no one could get it out. Some tools and some force got it out. The car has never left them stranded, doesn't leak, knock, nothing. The only thing that doesn't work is the trunk doesn't work with a key and the heating and AC box doesn't work(just blows warm air). The car got new wipers since I changed them. I think they got their monies worth with only paying $15k(CDN) out the door for the car lasting 8 years thus far.

I'm sure hoping that my Tacoma will last just as long(or longer) with all the maintenance being done at the right times etc. I just did my engine air filter and cabin air filter today and my Tacoma has just over 14,000 km's on it(11 months old). But I am anal about my maintenance and having everything done. I am the kind of person I'd buy a car from.

    Damn.
Ran that through KBB with the PA zip code and in excellent condition, they're estimating it at 15k.

Seems way high for a 7 year old truck with nearly 200k on it.
