    For me, the running boards serve two purposes:
    1) a step point for loading stuff onto the roof racks (alternatively you could step on the door jam, but that means leaving a door open which can be tough in a parking lot or when parallel parked on a narrow street)

    2) a door ding protector.

    They don’t really work well for their design purpose because they are too high. If you can step up to the step, you can step into the truck. The Predator design is a bit more fit for purpose, but I also see a lot of them with the forward lower step bent backwards, so there is a downside to that design as well.

    I got the running boards also. I dont like them but my dog does for getting in the back seat. Thats enough for me to leave them and critics can piss off.

    Like, so many.
    I’d pull them off. They are easy to put on and off. Takes maybe 10 minutes. You can always sell them.
