When I spoke to Eibach about the stage 2 pro truck, they said they don't have a stage 2 for 2nd gens but said it would still work. It feels like the it gave my truck well over a 3 inch lift but then again I never properly had a genuine suspension lift on the truck, it was on blocks or spacers and having trimmed my fenders doesn't quite help on measuring how much lift I did get. They said its not that they don't offer a stage 2 lift for the 2nd gen, its that they haven't tested it on a 2nd gen yet but like I mentioned, they said try adding weight in the front and see if that helps. Worse case, I will ride these out for a bit and switch over to fox or king. I will continue to update how things progress.

Also, I heard or read somewhere that 3rd gen suspension give the 2nd gen a little more lift cause 2nd gens are lighter than 3rd gens. Not sure how true that is.

That's good to know for people looking at that setup in the future. My guess is that they spec'd it a little heavier spring than stock for owners anticipating they would add a bumper or winch. One thing I'd like to know is what the ext/collapsed length of the rear shock is, it usually isn't much better than OEM which hinders the amount of droop.

The 3rd gen front shock/spring assembly lifts the front about 3/4"-1.2" depending on engine and other bits on most 2nd gens due to the 700lb spring. Stock 2nd gen springs are rated at about 500lbs, super low spring rate! Most people get less drivers side lean when swapping due to the spring rate, it rides much better than you would think based off all the stories you read about 700lb springs on aftermarket setups. It's all in the dampers. You can check it out in the link in my signature if you're interested.

well put a deposit down, looks like im about a month out from getting the stage 2 kit. hopefully in a month ill have it all setup and installed. there may be some extra costs, due to living in an area with 4 season there is a strong possibility that there may be some siezed parts and may need to add some LCAs which is going to add an additional expense. will report back again!

6112/5160 was used on TRD Pro 5th gen T4R,
and has no reports of problems.
It is also about the same price, with very thick front shocks, 5 point adjustability, different spring rates available for armor

and external reservoirs on the rear shock to add fluid capacity

as opposed to Eibach, which has had reports of problems, and does not have a reservoir
a brand that, AFAIK, specializes in street-driven passenger cars

You probably don't want to choose Eibach

so i have had them on now for almost 4 weeks but only really drove around for 2 and a bit due to travel for work and i have noticed a huge difference. it seems much smoother bumps don't feel as bumpy any longer. was raised about 2" and leveled ill get some pics when its nicer out and i get a wash in, its been messy out. for my use where i spend 90% of my time on the pavement a brand that made its name in road cars may know a thing or two.

Don't think I ever responded about my experience with this suspension. Once I had it installed, I had a hard thunk that would shake the whole front end and dash on my truck when I would go over a bump, a dip or pothole I didn't see. I chalked it up as needing an alignment. Once I got that, the issue was still there. I contacted Eibach, TacomaBeast and came across a thread where the 3rd gen guys were having the same issue. Eibach reached out to the thread and asked those that are having the issue to email them to possibly bring their truck to be inspected to identify the issue. None of the people having the issue lived around the area except for me. So they scheduled me to bring my truck in.

Last Friday (March 3rd) I headed down there and had them drive my truck around and put it on a lift. I was there from 7am to about noon. They concluded that the suspension doesn't belong on a 2nd gen as the chassis is lighter than a 3rd gen, they also said the fact that Im not 4x4 is also a factor as to why I am having the issue. From what they gathered, when going over a bump and the chassis being lighter, the suspension would drop first then the cab/chasses will drop afterwards. Almost like if the cab/chassis is playing catch up. They say without the added weight, the truck will continue to experiencing the harsh thunk. The 3rd gen guys call bullshit.

Another thing they did is pretty much say, they couldn't pin point exactly where the thunk is coming from and when ahead and nick picked my truck for every squeek and rattle is made.

They did install new front coilovers and asked to let them know if I still get the problem. As of right now, I haven't had it on some of the streets I normally drive on where it would do it but I have not driven on the main street where I know I can definitely replicated it.

Ultimately, I will eventually get rid of this suspension and go with a different brand.

**I'll try posting the a video of the loud thunk.

I've had this kit on my 2nd gen for 2 years now with no issues. I'm only using the font coilovers to level the truck though (1 inch lift).

Yeah. I didn’t quite understand where they were getting all that from. They pretty much nick picked my truck. “Your motor mounts are probably my shot cause on the GoPro you can see the engine shift”. That has nothing to do with the suspension really.
My complain if more on the street driving comfort than hwy. On the hwy, it rides really nice.
