I had brought my truck in for a free rotation and inspection and i mentioned a couple rattles and squeaks underneath for them to check out.

The guy calls me and says the bracket from manifold to block is rotted (rattle) along with a couple flanges looking a little past due at the cats and causing leaks... and i would need a whole new exhaust from headers through cats and suggested i may as well upgrade my exhaust too...

I was born, just not yesterday. There has to be an easier way to address this vs replacing the manifolds and cats? Right?

Or am i screwed because the flanges are welded at the end of the cats?

I have an aftermarket MBRP exhaust from the cat back, so im not worried about "upgrading". Just curious what my options are.

Flanges at the cats have replaceable gaskets which will run you about $5 at your local parts store, so long as the flanges themselves are still in good shape

i can visually see the bracket where it is rusted away from the cat flange. I bent it to stop the rattling (not sure why they didnt do that...)
But everything else looks pretty "standard rusty" i dont see any bad rot or holes. A little bit of rust around the aftermarket exhaust couplers so that could be a leak area potentially.
