    I think were getting deeper into an era where energy extraction is getting much more costly. Even oil doesnt magicly spew from the ground anymore.
    If all Americans actually learned how much energy went into extracting oil, say 1.5 in to get 1 out (it varies) , learn how much diesel and mining is needed for uranium, they be shocked and maybe start understanding the need for nuclear power as a part of a much needed system to use all our energy sources , and use them all wiser.

    Random fact:
    A haul truck in mining operations uses 1200 Litres of Diesel ever 20 hours. the mine I work in alone has over 80 haul trucks. Thats ONE company, is ONE area of the world.

    It's the same thing as a single person can't percieve a billion dollars, they just don't understand the shear magnitude of it.

    Many California plants are rated at 7-7.5 quakes. They seem more vulnerable. Would be interesting to have some one compile a list of comparisons as to type , backups etc.

    The guy they interviewed said they werent. Being as he actually helped build it, I have no reason, or proof, to think otherwise.

    Actually, Even our buildings in my area are built to a minor earth quake standard. Some of the quakes CA. gets are felt where I am.
