I've wanted camper cap quite a few years now just never found the right one at the right price in my area. like everyone else I search Craigslist for years. I happen to find an ARE high top that fit my 6ft bed and an added bonus, was already painted black sand pearl to match my truck . for $300 I felt the 3hr drive each way was worth it I was wondering what you guys think of the look. I originally had an undercover flat cover and Im having a hard time adjusing to the look. also, does anyone have an idea what this cap would have sold for new? it 2nd Gen 6ft, high top, double lock in rear, driver side has flip up winow with 2 locks. I find this very useful and I've only had it for 2 days and I have a key for all locks. The passenger side has a slider. thanks

Looks good, good score on price. It took me a while to get used to having a cap on my Tacoma. There's some drawbacks but overall I have been happy. Plus cap is 1000% more useful than what you had on.

Caps aren't meant to look good; they're for utility.

Doesn't matter what we think. As long as it suits your purpose and you like the look, that's all that matters. If your wife and kids like it, that's an added bonus - they're about the only other ones whose opinions should matter. It will definitely take some time to get used to a different look, but in a couple months it will just become part of the look of your truck, and you won't remember what your truck looked like without it.

I am currently on the hunt for a cap myself, and if I had found that deal, already color matched to boot, I would have taken it and been very happy with it.

The SnugTop Super Sport is a very nice shell. I like the caps that stay at the same height as the truck, but the pop up ones do give more headroom inside.

I think most trucks look BETTER with the right cap. Some don't work, but this looks good.

Thank you everyone . I was Just in the fence with it wasn't sure if I like it or not. I guess I'll let it grow on me. I did need the added space so I'm sure I'll like it once I start adding my tools in. Than you

I like the look on your truck. Not too contractor-ish (not that there is anything wrong with that). I did the same thing on my MGM Access Cab. Ran with an Extang tri-fold for almost 5 years, then finally found a nice cab on CL in the right color, from a guy who was just 2 days from having to turn his leased truck in, so he was motivated. FWIW, the cap is great for hauling my "stuff" to the mountains cabin. I own a utility trailer for hauling firewood, quad, mower, extra tall stuff, . . . I think it will grow on you.

That's about what I've got in my cap as well. I think you got a great buy and it looks just fine. Personally I was hoping for a standard height and got luck and found one. The high height actually looks pretty good though.

It's proving to be super useful.... Loving mine!

That's a nice set up you have now, it just looks right. A killer buy if you ask me. Maybe you should buy a lotto ticket next. Ya never now!
