    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
My Bronco II had tons of power and the extended fuel tank was a huge plus. But I would not let my dumb girlfriend at the time drive it anymore after almost rolling it on the freeway because she kept over correcting it after a minor obstacle swerve, then the headgasket failed at just over 120k and it went downhill after that. Not sure I could own a Bronco again, but a Defender or FJ40? Heck yeah!

Bastard love-child of a Wrangler and FJ. Looks like it has glasses on and its a Ford but the concept is great. Those were awesome vehicles back in the day.

Im in the minory probably wanting Intertrashional to bring the Scout II back..

I think it’s cool. Great daily driver, then weekend get on the trails rig. Reliability is the 64 thousand dollar question.

    HATER!

Your last sentence is all that matters to Ford. Yes it isnt an SAS, but 99% of America doesn't even know what that means. This thing is going to clean up big time and eat the shit out of jeeps lunch. I think you are making assumptions about how easy it will be to modify as well, it's coming with like 300 parts from the start via ford, so they have obviously fitted it to be easy to mod. How do you know it isn't a quick trim up to 37's from the 35? No one has gotten to look and try yet!

If this thing is even halfway reliable it will be 1000000% better than any jeep out there. Jeeps ride like dog shit and are crappy for 99% of the time you are in them. They are only good on the trail, and then only a couple of their models. 99% of their customers don't even go on the trail and are high school girls. Ford's packages will be comfortable on both, if the raptor is any sign.

Sorry to the haters, but this thing is gonna be hot cakes and fuck up Jeeps day. :boink::boink:

    Exactly this.

When the Ecoboost engines came out the truck faithful were howling at the moon at the sacrilege of a V6 as the top engine in a full size truck, and Ram and GM were thinking that this was their chance to wrest the crown from the king.

Until they pitted the EB against their gasoline V8s and got thumped.

Ford has sold literally how many millions of Ecoboost powered trucks and cars, yet the highways aren't littered with them broken down on the side of the road.

Ford got the EB engines pretty right. They needed to since the previous generation of modular V8s were pretty much turkeys.

Turbos used to be problematic, but with modern technology and controls they are as good as anything else.

Look at the number of million-mile over the road trucks with turbos.

With ever tighter CAFE requirements you are going to see more and more manufacturers turning to turbochargers to get power and economy in the same package, like many are already doing.

GM even offers a turbo 4 in their fullsize now, though I think it would be a better fit in the Colorado to counter the Ranger.

That said, Ford should really have put a hyphen in the name Eco-Boost, because when you're in boost you're certainly not eco and vice versa.

I know many people with Ecoboost trucks including 3 who are good friends, 2 of those with tuned engines. None have had any engine problems and the tuned ones are pretty insane.

Having owned a brand new 2017 Wrangler I can say without reservation that I would take the Bronco in a heartbeat.

Edit: OK, so I really like the new Bronco.

But the Shut Up And Take My Money vehicle is this

There are rumors that it will happen.

This would club the Gladiator like a baby seal.

Really liking the 2 door! I cannot justify a 3rd vehicle for myself though. At least not one that has some overlap w/ what I already have. But if I was in the market, I would 100% be in on that thing.

Now who is making assumptions. This thing reminds me of the FJ. Other than a cult following how were those sales?

lol, I love when a new vehicle doesn't satisfy the .001% of enthusiasts so it gets nitpicked. If any brand built a vehicle to satisfy those niche groups, their sales would be in the toilet when it came to real world consumers. The Bronco will likely do just fine with sales and satisfy the owners desire to go off-pavement.

I agree, Ford will be just fine considering the following they already had before this.

Jeep people can still be Jeep people and now there can be a new rivalry. That has already begun.

I put a reservation in for a Black Diamond after holding off buying a Jeep for the past year.

I thought the same thing. Also look like a K-5 Blazer not the square body, much more IH Scout though.
