I think it looks sick and comparing its specs (width, wheelbase, clearance, etc) to tacomas and jeeps, it's definitely going to be a solid contender. I bet once they start hitting lots there's going to be a fat "market adjustment" on them due to the popularity and anticipation.

I hope this prompts Toyota to bring the FJ Cruiser back.

I personally love the new Bronco and would consider trading in my Tacoma for this. Hopefully Toyota is watching closely and is learning. With the FJ,4runner and Landcruiser they should be able to come up with something to compete. If not I might have to make the switch to Ford. I would miss pickup bed but Im sure I would forget when the top is off ;) From what Ive heard is that these Ford Ecoboost motors are solid with decent fuel economy. A friend of mine just got a Ranger and the truck flies.

it's pretty badass. If I had the space (and the extra $$), I'd definitely consider it, assuming it checks out on a test drive and the reviews come in solid.

Even if I had the cash for it, not entirely sure my wife would let me have my Taco, TJ, AND the Bronco, though...

I have to admit, I like it. I would be reluctant to buy one in the first couple of years. There's always bugs and glitches in brand new car models. Hopefully Ford has spent enough time testing to work most of it out. Toyota will have to step up, I hope the new gen 4Runner will be amazing.

I’m hoping the 7MT is good (and more reliable than the 6MT in the stang)...I couldn’t get behind the manual Tacoma, as fun as driving a manual can be, it’s pretty dull.

But a 3.5L ecoboost or V8 would be a blast with manual in a tank like the bronco. I’ll have to wait 3-5 years to see how reliable they are (and if Toyota plans to answer to the Bronco... maybe with the FA24DIT from the Subaru Ascent since they like collaborating with scooby)

I want one! Especially since Chevy's so-called "Blazer" is such an epic fail in terms of both exterior design and the platform; A vehicle that not only looks like a bloated Nissan Murano, but comes standard in FWD, is not worthy of the Blazer name! Like I said, I want a Bronco now!

I think the FJ would still be around if it was a full, 4 door version. Nowadays, everything has to be 4 door to sell. I had a ‘13 trail teams edition, that was my only complaint. The rear door was almost impossible to close from the inside while sitting in the rear seat. I bet the 4 door Bronco outsells the 2 door by a mile. Just look at how many 4 door Wranglers you see on the road.

After my buddy’s f-150’s tranny took a shit at 62,000 miles, and the dealership wouldn’t do a god damn thing for him, (60,000mile warranty) I pledged to never ever consider buying a Ford for the rest of my life.

And Fiat-Chrysler is probably shitting itself; I'd buy one of these over a Jeep any day!

I think part of the reason Toyota discontinued the FJ in the U.S. was because it was basically a 2 door 4Runner mechanically. I don't think it was designed to totally compete with the Jeep, but to go after consumers who remember or had the old FJ and wanted a Japanese quality 2-door off-road vehicle.

That being said, the FJ Cruiser isn't completely dead. It is still sold as a new vehicle in two remaining markets in the world: South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

It looks like Mike Sweers is in charge of the FJ now which could could mean a possible reappearance.

I love my 2007 FJ Cruiser. That being said, I'm digging the new Bronco and I think that is what the FJ Cruiser should have been.

Has anyone found info about their Bilstein HOSS suspension? I figured they’d have FOX in their lineup.
