Wheelbase does matter, but that's not the limiting factor at least on the 4 door.

My V8 Grand Cherokee is rated at 6500lbs and it has a 106" wheelbase.

My Bronco has a 105" wheelbase and is rated for 7000.

Love it, Not rushing out to buy one but I will check them out in the future once they are proven and some used ones hit the market. A 2dr 7MT is right up my alley, it's really perfect with that 2.3T. As far as the Wrangler goes the only trim level that interests me is the Rubicon and they are stupid expensive around here. Ford is great for custom builds and flexibility, I like the idea of paying for the options I actually want and not much more. One more thing against Jeep, the last Wrangler engine I actually liked was the 4.0L I6, everything since then has been very "meh". The 2.0T in the JL has potential but they stick you with a boring 8AT.

2.3T is the smallest engine in the Bronco.

On second thought, it's a hard pass. Nice looking, but I'm not the target market. With the taco, I'm able to tow (and do it occasionally), do bed loaded dump runs, and yeah, trail taxi stuff with no difficulty. Biggest issue is 18-20mpg sucks poop.

Sure, I can give up or specialize on the capabilities front (eg, more offroad, less towing/cargo, etc) but I'm more in the line for something with a more efficient (and hopefully more powerful) powertrain like a pure EV or PHEV that can run all 4 on electrics. Plus, this taco's only from 2016.. I'll be in the market for a new rig in 4-5 more years. Or more.

I “reserved” a 4 door badlands and plan on looking into Sasquatch package vs aftermarket build on 35’s.

The main problem for me is I really like the 2 door but with three dogs and a fair amount of camping equipment and stuff on road trips, there just doesn’t seem to be enough room. Although that only makes up about 30’ish% of its intended use.

I like the 4 door but mainly with the doors off and the top off. Again, maybe only use it that way about 30% of the time, if that.

I do use the bed of the truck quite a bit but also have a trailer that I could use for dumps, Home Depot, atv hauling, etc.

Just talking out loud. Decisions, decisions.

While I loved my F150 it really started having problems early than it should, and the Ranger really was a half assed launch at best, so those things somewhat soured me on Ford. HOWEVER after replacing my dumpster fire of a Ram work van (seriously FCA makes fucking garbage, that thing burned oil like mad from new and despite still being under warranty the dealership told me they all do it and to pound sand) with a Ford Transit Connect that’s been absolutely flawless I’ve started to turn around a bit.

I really think they knocked it out of the park with the new Bronco. IFS means it won’t ride like sh!t like the Wrangler but the factory 35’s, sway bar disconnect, and front and rear lockers will mean that for 99% of people it’s every bit as capable. I adore my 4Runner and don’t see myself ever giving it up, but if these have been decently reliable after a couple of years I’d be tempted.

This is great news for MT lovers. This means 6th gen Ranger is likely to get a MT which adds pressure for Toyota to keep MT an option on 4th gen.

Not sure why people are so concerned about towing capacity. Maybe it's weird out here in Colorado and Utah but most people tow their Jeeps behind something, not the other way around. Seems to me if you need to tow, you buy a full-size truck.

Depends on how you prioritize towing capability and drivability in the city. I sure don’t want to drive a full size around Seattle or Denver.

Love the look, like a clean updated old bronco. But shares the same frame as ranger and costs as much as a Jeep. Ill pass

Anyone place their preorder? I just placed my order today for a 4 door.
It really sucks that the Sasquatch package is only available with the auto trans. The manual trans with the built in granny gear is sick!

What are your thoughts and plans?
