That's not the top of the line 2dr in that video. How many other companies are putting their product out there for public viewing before they even go on sale?

I can't wait to get mine. Plan to upgrade the Tacoma at the same time. Should be a great pair of vehicles.

The bronco is for the wife. Tacoma ain’t going anywhere.

 

They gonna be both for me! Some days will be a Tacoma day, and others will be a Bronco day.
This is going to let me do a more aggressive offroad build on the Tacoma. Don't think I'll end up long arm, but you know how things get out of hand after a few beers.

With enough beer, anything is possible. Once it gets in the garage and I have a DD, one never knows. I saw a 2.5 ton axle for sale on my way to work tonight and instantly though of the possibilities.

 

They seemed pretty careful to avoid body damage. And I'd prefer them to test out the skid plates before the model goes on sale.

Besides I can’t imagine they put a set of 1/4” steel skids on, so I’m sure those skids are best to hell.

 

I was responding to @skierd who felt the Ford guys didn't "give a F about the truck".

And stock skids can often survive if they are supported by closely-spaced crossmembers. The JL Wrangler is like that. The thin metal does sound a lot worse than it is though.

 

Survive? I guess. Seems like dents in the Jk pic below are big enough to threaten what they are protecting.


Tacoma skids are garbage for sure.

 

Will this Bronco have vehicle specific tires? I've never seen those tires on any other vehicle before.

They are only putting the Wrangler name on one side of the tire so Ford can mount that to the inside. No advertising for Wrangler!.

 

I gotta say, looks like they'll live up to some of the hype but am I the only one that thinks they look really awkward doing it?

 

Surprised they didn’t just put the 35” C-load KO2s from the Raptor on there. They were developed specifically for Ford

I guess now they’ve got pricing leverage against both tire manufacturers

The Ford testing crew beat the crap out of them on the Rubicon then went to Moab to beat the crap out of the same vehicles. Needs a tow package. 3500lb max with a ClassII hitch as of now.
