I got my order in on Monday. Order is a Black Diamond, 4 door, Area 51, MIC top, 2.7L w/ auto, mid package, tow package, and Squatch. There is a slim chance I get a late MY21 but it will most likely be a MY22.

Well then. Go ahead and explain it to this dumb American. Because from my basic knowledge of physics and gears, having a 7 speed transmission doesn't mean you're giving up torque and hp to the elder gods as witchcraft.

That’s a great power train combo. It will be amazing on that little truck. Hopefully they have 4.##:1 rearend for some nice 35” tires after owning it for a bit.

Some of us understand that transmissions with thousands of gears are made to meet arbitrary fuel mileage standards.
They don’t want to downshift. They suck the torque out of an engine.

    Mhmm. Ok.

So in your expert opinion, a single speed transmission would be best, right?

No. My expert opinion says that transmissions used to be better.
But you go right ahead and keep pretending that the Government is only making vehicles better.

    Isn’t the 7 speed a manual tranny?

Yes it is. One of gears is a crawler or what we used to call a granny gear. So really it is just a 6-speed manual transmission under normal use. I had a 1967 truck with 20 speeds, so I guess we're regressing. Government man is trying to take away my gearing. Lol.

I wish more Bronco models were available with a manual trans. That, and the lead times are crazy right now. I never went through with a reservation out of concern for initial quality.

Well if you didn't reserve within the first 24 hours of it going live, you'd be MY22 anyway. I'm on the bubble and will probably not make it this year.

Well, since it is a manual, it really doesn't matter what it wants to do, does it. Mine will rarely ever see the 7th gear in use and 1st is a granny low, so really, I'll use mine as a 5 speed, and I'll shift when I want to.

Im probably talking way over my vehicular knowledge and this is sheer opinion... The new Bronco was not what I was expecting... It looks like a ford-mini-cooper-jeep. Just small overall and the body scheme was not impressive.

Maybe it was the d-bad driving it... but I give it an overall score of "Meh".

Or, maybe you saw a Sport and not a Bronco. Maybe.

Ah, makes sense... It was a 2 door.

    Thanks for that.

2 door is the regular bronco. 4 doors are either Sport or regular.
