I have not driven a Ranger I can't recall having ever sat in one. The Ranger looks like it could be a good truck. I like the Tacoma more than the Ranger, I doubt if the Ranger is as much fun to drive as a Tacoma.

I had withdrawal symptoms when I gave up my Ram 2500 for my FJCruiser. It got better when I picked up a M416 trailer. Coming back to a truck with the Tacoma was nice but still not the same as the Ram. Having said that, I'm diving back into SUV ownership with the Bronco. I get it though if you use the bed at least once a week or more...a trailer just wouldn't be the same.

Just got a call from my dealer. I was on their preview this morning to have a vin# and build week to be scheduled this Thursday. So hopefully will have it by end of July.

You lucky dog. That is great. I read on the B6G forum that the preview list is sometimes not worth the paper it is written on but he said that with the Bronco it may be different. I hope that your rig shows up on Thursday list...that would be awesome.

Remind me, what is your build?

I tjonk the Bronco looks cool, but id not buy a car the first year.or two its out. Plus, all the hype, there will be no deals on them.
As far as the ranger goes, as soon as i saw it only came with the turbo four banger, i woildnt even consider it. I prefer my old v6

2DR Black Diamond with 7sp manual in velocity blue.
Hoping to see an email tomorrow from Ford with the vin. At least making the preview is progress.

Nice setup. I'm going 4 door BD with the 2.7 and Squatch in A51. I'm sure you'll let us know...keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Got the email for scheduling on my Black Diamond. I had a first night reservation, but it probably helped that I ordered it with no options at all. Just the 2DR black Diamond with 2.3 and manual.
Build week is scheduled for 6/28, so maybe early August delivery.

    Sacrilege!

A buddy has a Ranger with the Livernois tune on it.

"Fun" is one word that could be used to describe it. Barking tires through the first 3 gears is another.

Awesome stuff. Happy that you got the golden ticket. Even as a no option BD that will be an awesome rig. Those steelies do look pretty good on a BD.

I do like the steelies and will use them if I can fit 285/75/17s without spacers. I'm planning Fox coilovers in the near future.

I considered a Bronco but I can't justify a Bronco compared to the '08 4Runner I own. Bronco seemed pretty good on paper, then I saw it has a crappy little ClassII hitch, and because it has coilovers on the rear it will be very difficult to add airbags. And, the way the spare is mounted on the tailgate you can't hook up an offroadable trailer unless you use an extended bar, which reduces the factory 3500lb limit.

Then I see a teeny cargo capacity, teeny cargo weight, a goofy 4" ridge in the rear cargo area so you don't have a flat cargo area. Then I see the teeny 16g and 19g fuel tanks.

Bronco isn't versatile enough to me. Super-duper offroad with the upper trims, but not versatile in any trim.

It wasn't made to be versatile. That's the beauty of it. It's an extra vehicle for me to fit the purpose it was designed for.

Same, I wouldn’t take my tacoma rock crawling.

Also, what with rzr’s and those $20-30k sports atvs? If I were realling looking to off road I also just get a used 4x4 jeep and beat the crap out of it. If off road adrenaline is what you seek I’d recommend a dirt bike. I have one and even though it doesn’t do 60mph down a dirt road the offroading is a lot more adrenaline inducing.

    Driving around looking pretty.

All jokes aside, they look cool and yoh can take the doors and roof off which I find pretty appealing.

My FJ was an extra vehicle but never really did much for me. Hoping the removable top of the Bronco will make it more endearing.

My FJ really didn't grow on me until I put a 3" lift and 33s. That really completed it for me. I regret trading it in on the Tacoma, especially with the Bronco coming out. They had talked about it for so long I wasn't sure if it would ever come out so it didn't factor into my trade.

The Bronco won't be for everyone, which is fine by me. I do wish the tow rating were higher, but I never max'ed out my FJ's rating except for a time or two in 8 yrs of ownership.
