I don't know about the 2.3 4cyl, but that 2.7L 6 is surprisingly potent. Test drove an F150 with one and that had plenty of go for a heavy ass truck. It should be better in a smaller/lighter Bronco.

I really like the overall vehicle and would have preferred it with the 5.0L, but i'm glad they at least made the 2.7L an option.

Do you guys think Toyota will respond to the Bronco release with something?

Toyota needs to do a removable top in the USA. Even with the chicken tax people would buy it if they did it right.

I feel like Toyota kind of does the opposite of what people really want. Then they're like, "hah, thought we were gonna do that see, but we didn't because we're smarter than you, see.."

I liked the 4 door a lot up til I found out its only 3500 lb tow rating, duh. You would think it would have 5000-6600 lb rating. I guess its too light of a vehicle. Engine would be up to it with the 2.7L for sure.

If the 7 speed is flat towable behind an RV...I see a Base 7 Speed with the Sasquach package in my future...I'll let the lady have the Tacoma

One thing I really like about that 7 speed is the crawl gear, very cool. Kind of like the old 4 speeds, 1st gear was only used for climbing or pulling. Granny gear they called it. That granny gear in low range should be awesome.

Short wheel base cuts the rating way down.

not sure you'll be able to put that transfer case in Neutral....looks like you'd have to disconnect the drive shaft yourself

I really liked what I saw. Put a reservation in and will see what’s what the closer it gets, especially once the hype dies down. Even though the choice really doesn’t matter (aside from the First Editions), I chose the WildTrak (V6 + 35’s + front and rear lockers).

The Badlands seems a bit more desirable from an off roading perspective; I just imagine it’ll be more expensive when optioned out.

I would think there would be an option with the 2 speed transferase, I know you can flat tow an F150 as well, so I would think they would have an option for the Bronco, considering they are targeting the Jeep Wrangler market and they are the most popular RV tow vehicles on the market

I really like the looks of the new Bronco. I won't get one in the year of release, but if they still have the 7MT and Sasquatch package in 2022 it could happen.

Too bad they had to go with boost. I will take longevity over horsepower every time.

The ecoboost engines have been in the market for years now. There's tons of them with several hundred thousand miles on them. This way of thinking that anything with a factory turbo is "bad" needs to go. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a modern engineered single or twin turbo.

That's a shame. You're pigeon-holing yourself to a brand, rather than an entire world of innovative products and technologies. Toyota makes fantastic vehicles, there's no doubt about that. But other companies make good products too. Maybe if enough people buy the new Bronco, then Toyota will step up and offer some cool new offroad features on the Tacoma. Competition in the car market is good. I have no more loyalty to Toyota than I have to the brand of shoes I buy. I drive a Tacoma because it was the best midsized truck for the money when I bought it. That's as far as my loyalty lies.

And at the end of the day, Toyota really doesn't give a shit about you or I. They build high quality, reliable vehicles so that they can increase their marketshare. If another company offers something comperable or better, why wouldn't you switch?

One can never have too many light bars.
I’ll admit the new Bronco looks badass. I think the packages hit the nail on the head too. They seem pretty affordable too. $35k seems to get a pretty solid package although I’m sure dealers will mark the first ones up a ton. If I were Jeep I would be scared. The Bronco seems to be a step above in every way. Plus I think Ford produces way higher quality trucks compared to FCA. I really hope the 4Runner takes notes of all the available features for its 2023 revamp.
