Hmm. I could certainly be incorrect, I’m admittedly not as versed in 3rd Gen as 2nd.

Confirmed in diff wizard, 3rd Gen is 8” and 8.75”. No 8.4 which is required for the truetrac.

last i looked Eaton still had nothing for us. last looked maybe a year ago. no truetrac or posi yet. seems eventually the truetrac will show as these diff sizes fill up the planet. doubt the posi will show although that's my preference.

x2, had them in both the front and rear axles on my last vehicle. although if i were to do it over i would have only put one in the front axle, it made the vehicle very pushy through turns and the rear end had a strong tendency to kick out with almost no effort. did great in mud, loose gravel, etc...

What’s odd is there website doesn’t back this up. Everything listed for the LSD is Landcruisers and Hyluxs.

The only thing popping out to me is they specifically call out high pinion differentials. Toyota runs high pinion in the front but low pinion rears.

If it was Tacoma compatible, why not list it?

I didn't care for my truetrac's behavior in the snow. The truck always had to to be in 4WD. That was in my 1st gen

Has anyone looked into the TORS-TV6-30 from Nitro yet ? In their catalog they list this for 2016 and up Tacoma's with the 8" rear differential. I'd like to buy one but would like to know if anyone has installed one. Guys at Nitro say they have installed quite a few.

Haven’t seen much talk on the forum about them or LSDs. They are less common as most throw in a locker but torsion designs with worn gears such as this are desired. I personally would go with Eaton based on reputation.
