Personally I like them but I understand why not everyone would. If it makes you happy, then why look for other's validation? Not their truck so not their problem

Personally I view it similarly as putting a Ford emblem on your grill. Doesn't make sense.
There are plenty of ways to customize your taco without trying to copy another manufacturer.

I like them. Have them on my truck. You paid for the truck, do what you like and enjoy it.

Your level of shame is your issue to manage.

My shame is valid. Lights are going to be removed. I got them with a new grill purchased from FB marketplace.

I would only have them on my Tacoma if they were hazard strobes for the occasional time when I'm on the trail and doing some line or pulling work! but to each their own they serve a purpose just like cab lights use to mean something.

its your truck build it for you not for every one else

Raptors were legally required to have additional marker lights due to width. Ford chose not to put them over-cab like a dually, and I think it was a creative decision.

Your truck, do what you want.

Well it's your truck and your truck payment. So as long as you are paying / have paid for it then you shouldn't give two ships what other people think.
But if it was on my truck I'd be embarrassed that it looks like a Ford.

    Meh, do what you like.

I do, however think they're ridiculous. I thought they looked dopey when the F-150 guys started putting them on regular F-150. Now that everyone is slapping them on anything with 4 wheels and headlights, they're pretty clownish and meme-worthy. But, I'll happily defend your right to make your vehicle look as goofy as you want to.

I sold a 19 Ranger to buy the 23 Tacoma.
Because every time it rained the windshield shed water under the cowl onto the coil packs and would corrode them. There was a TSB for it and Ford still wasn't fixing it. I couldn't afford to be 30 miles down a trail and have the truck decide that now was a good time to hop on Rock Auto and start ordering coil packs and plugs again.
