Was it that exact kit? How much worse was the stopping power, thanks for the help.

My current truck has the 4" Pro-Comp drop bracket lift. I ran just the 1-1/2"-2" or whatever it was RC leveling kit on my 2000 Prerunner for years as well and had no issues. It was 99% street truck being that it was 2wd.

Maybe also try to pickup some 3rd gen or late 2nd gen take-off coilovers & control arms to freshen the suspension up as well.

My truck hardly sees off roading as well and I put the 3 in. lifted RC struts up front and a 2 in. block in the rear. All together with new UCA's it was only like $650-700 but for the love of God please continue to save so you can buy a better lift kit. You know that scene where Mater is driving over the bumpy road Lightening McQueen paved? Thats how my truck feels. It is so stiff I had to take the front sway bar off so it.

You will be fine. Many people ran spacer lifts…me included.

As far as how much will anything cost? You have to do research yourself. Look up prices at the dealer, Amazon, o’riley etc.

With any lift, you will wear out bushings and ball joints. Upper control arm ball joint. Lower control arm bushings and ball joint.

go with a lift too high and you will ruin your axles.

and as far as 5100….I would skip them. I had them, and not a huge fan. Sure they are good budget option, but that’s all they are. I would save up a little more and get the ebaich 2.0 kit or fox 2.0 or better

For me. Yes it was that bad. On 125Hwy in Reuter,Mo it would push through the turn and traction control would engage. When it does the engine stalls and your in the other lane with no power. Now my sport was 4x4. That wreck was not a result of this to be clear. Totally separate issue. 43E284F6-4D90-4869-B9E4-EB7E5E042A1D.jpg489A8848-390D-4A64-BFFA-A351044D9834.jpg

Sorry for the late reply. On perfectly smooth roads it’s not bad especially once I replaced the UCAs but as soon as a couple bumps come along, it feels like riding around in a rickshaw. I do keep a lot of air in my tires for better mpg (i think it’s mostly placebo but hey trying is trying) so that might be affecting it but even when my tires have less air in them it doesn’t change much. I seriously seriously would just continue to save for a little longer. My truck is brutal on long drives. After about 4 hours i feel like i’ve been jostled around like an old wooden roller coaster

Man sorry to hear about that. I also have a 2000 honda civic with 88,000 miles. I think i’ll stick to that for the long car rides and just drive the truck around town when I feel like it.

I’m don’t have the knowledge of the others on here but
I ran a spacer lift on my 05 and have one on my 14
I think the key is having longer bump stops in the front so the shocks don’t bottom out
Been using low range 3” lift - i do trails no hard wheeling, no complaints
