Thoughts on the new infotainment system?

What are yalls thoughts on Toyota going their own route for the smartphone compatability for the infotainment system. I for one like it and look forward to see how it functions. Here's the link to the first article I've seen about it.

Just more crap to distract drivers and of course to distract you from the price tag and the other downfalls on the 2.5 gen

 

Disclosure...I'm not a techie guy. I had 2011 Taco TRD Sport (no tech). Upgraded to 2014 Taco TRD Sport (sorta tech...no nav, but everything else, I think). I think the "upgrade" might have been a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I love the truck. But the weather app sucks. On-board thermometer was better...way better. I have an iPhone...free nav. I don't know who would pay for nav when it comes on your phone for free? I do love the blue tooth, hands free talking linked to my steering wheel. And I like iTunes on my car stereo. Never understood the draw of paying for Sirius Sattellit radio. I have always wondered why Toyota doesn't just allow connectivity to all of the other things your iPhone can do. Sounds like they are going to. If so, great!

 

To make this thread useful, does the stock radio come with an 3.5mm AUX jack? I know there is a power socket in the center console, but is there an AUX jack?

 

Can't see the actual jack but there is a USB/AUX cover on the buttons above the shifter. I assume theres a 3.5mm jack under there, and a standard type A usb port.
