Thoughts on these Spyder headlights?

I have a 2nd Gen Tacoma with Iron Cross bumpers. So far, they have collected a Chevy, a Ford, and a deer. Best investment ever.

The Chevy managed to shift the bumper's adjustment enough to get into the headlight on one side. (The Iron Cross shackle lugs ripped a huge hole in his bumper.)

Now I have a sparkling brand new headlight on the driver side, and a 12 year old light showing its age on the other. I am literally tired of polishing the damn thing.

    So...

    I am thinking Spyder Headlights.

    Spyder® 5011916 - Toyota Tacoma 05-11 Projector Headlights - LED Halo - LED ( Replaceable LEDs ) - Black - High H1 (Included) - Low H1 (Included)

What would you recommend? (Any objection to these?)

Spyder is a big aftermarket light company. They provide aftermarket lights for all kinds of cars. The problem with spyder and most aftermarket lights is the quality. They look nice and function good for a couple months if you’re lucky. A high percentage of these lights will have imperfections. You can check their reviews on Amazon or anywhere that will post reviews. A quick search and these are rated at 3.5 stars on amazon. I wouldn’t recommend these. 677FD168-395C-4D15-B40C-BF9BECE7D6A6.jpg

I’ve had good luck with depo headlights for several vehicles. They are not fancy with halos or leds but are well made, look and function just like OEM. If you’re looking for a quality product look for something CAPA certified, DOT & SAE stamped and approved.

I'd just go with an OEM on the passenger side. Leaky headlights, crappy fitment, and garbo plastic sucks. If you need more light, like TheFang said, ultimate headlight upgrade.

The problem is not the light output. I have lights in the bumper for when I want daylight.

The problem is that I have one headlight with a dozen years of driving on it, so it is hazy and a little yellow. And the new headlight is sparkly shiny new, and points it out.

So if I were looking at a cosmetic upgrade, what is the best look that will get the truck thru another dozen years.

Put up a willing to buy (WTB) thread in the 2nd gen parts marketplace for that one headlight. Someone usually has one laying around they want to sell. I got an OEM tail light that way for cheap.
