I definitely don't need the pro nameplate. I just figure its really not costing me more because i'll get it back when it's time to sell. I have been open to all dc manuals and I'm really just looking for a good deal. I don't even care about the color. I like the blue and the pro is dope so I figured if it was a good deal I should jump on it.

Lots of good stuff on that but I'd venture you could get a 2022 or 2023 SR5 V6 4WD for that price are darn near it.
Not manuals but brand new -

appreciate you looking but the manual is a MUST and I am avoiding any corona cars for the next few years. Part of the reason I'm looking now. Ill need a car in a few years and all the used ones will be dumped corona cars.

I drove a few hours to get mine a few years ago. Paid around $25k all in for a 2012 DCLB. Came with leather and heated seats, JBL and entune, bigger wheels and tires, ~2” lift (resi on rear) and ~80k miles.

Just wasn’t a manual but I wanted the 6’ bed more. You could always get the seats wrapped in leather to make them what you want for less than Pro money.

I didn’t think about leaving without the truck and negotiating didn’t go well for me lol. As others have said, take your time and look it over in depth, take notes while you look it over and after test drive, don’t be afraid to walk if they aren’t budging on certain flaws or the price.

Used market is still pretty hot though. All comes down to how bad you want it and how soon you need it.

    best of luck!

OP, sounds like you’ve already made up your mind on the truck. I don’t understand the “corona truck” part as you stated you don’t want to overpay for a new truck, but yet you’re willing to overpay for a used one. Risky with a 60k mile truck on taking on someone else’s problem after overpaying.

All I can say if you’re getting knowledgeable feedback from people that actually have a Tacoma, but you seem to be basing your decision on emotion. If that’s the case you might as well just write the check now.

I've never seen a hearse towing a trailer full of money. Life is short. If that's the truck you want.....buy it. Who gives a shit what everyone else thinks. Some people apply so much logic to life they never end up enjoying anything.

You said earlier that you don't want new, and that New England dealers are charging over MSRP. Just one data point- my dealer is charging MSRP or less right now, and they have a pretty good selection of incoming vehicles. Before I got my allocation for a Pro, they offered me $1000 off any incoming SR5.

    $39500 for a truck that's 4 years old.
    $39500 for a truck with 58000 miles.
Buy a new one instead for that money.
Your gong to be changing batteries, tires, fluids and the warranty wont be around much longer for any other surprises.
Granted its a Toyota but so was my Corolla and I got stuck with a transmission replacement.

I’m not willing to overpay for a used truck either. Which is why I’m asking educated Tacoma owners for their opinion. A good amount of people have given me good advice on this thread already. I know that I have a good idea on the values of all my vehicles because I’m a bit of a gear head. I have had Toyotas before, I’m not worried about a vehicle with 60k. Would you be worried about a Tacoma with 60k and why? I don’t know because I’ve never had a Tacoma.

To all that say that it is over priced. Look at B/S/T on here. From what sellers are asking on here... it's not that bad of a price. Prices on here are astronomical.

A "good deal" is getting one thing for less than the market average at the time you are buying. What was, or can be, a good deal at a different time is a different deal.

If you are convinced this is what you want, you are happy with the mileage and age, and it has the options you want then all it comes down to is comparing against the rest of the market.

My personal OPINION is NO WAY! I paid $1k more than that for my 21 OR with 1 mile on it.
That said, mine is not premium; no leather, no sunroof, no audio upgrade, the only thing I sprung for was advanced tech ($1k). Still, a pro goes for higher prices and admittedly I was looking at them when I bought, but now am glad I did not. So take mine and add the Pro tax and premium, and the price isn't unreasonable. I wouldn't spend it, but thats me and my situation, not you and yours. FWIW, for $1500 you can make an OR ride better than a pro with the digressive valved Bilsteins 6112's (IMO).

I would never buy a used Tacoma with 60k miles unless it was a really good deal. If you browse this forum long enough you’ll see how much people abuse their trucks. It’s a truck after all. There was a dude that got his 2022 stuck underwater for a few hours trying to cross a river. All he did was dry it out and fix it up. Never reported it to insurance or anything. Imagine being the second owner of that? Add to the fact off-roading hurts a truck, mods, etc etc. and yes even a used Toyota is a risk (especially if you’re not getting a really good deal to take that risk)

Rule of thumb, if you’re the original owner, yes a Tacoma will last forever. But if you’re a second+ owner, it’s very risky.

Aside from purchasing vehicles with well documented problems, the old Ford Focus engine was well known for dropping valve guides for example, mileage is less important than condition.

If you are happy with what you paid it is a good deal. My truck was 2 years old with 12K miles, I saved $8000 compared to a new one, I got a great deal -- and the dealer had over 200 trucks in their inventory at the time and probably over 1000 in their system, new & used they were parked 3 deep in the side lot.

Although some folks seem to have a hard time understanding it - times have changed. You can call it the new normal, market adjustment, corporate greed, whatever you want - the name doesn't matter. We aren't going back to 2019 ever again.

The Tacoma, while having quirks, has a pretty solid reputation, if you buy a well cared for truck in excellent condition and take care of it yourself it should give you good service. If I purchased a 60K truck I would give it a comprehensive inspection, change all the fluids (coolant too) and enjoy my new to me truck.
