So the ten hours for clearancing is beyond ridiculous but three hours for a cab mount chop isn't bad.

125/hr makes me glad I can work on my own truck. :D

Edit. Nevermind. That ten hours is for installing the kit plus time for clearancing for the tires. Which is dumb since that should be in the cab mount chop.

I didn't check much else but I'd recommend talking to them about those two lines.

It took me 1.5 hours to lift front end with beers. Rear takes max 3-4 hours if you do new leafs with beers and hassles. That's me in my drive way without a lift....

A 6" lift is going to invite a lot of headaches with this truck. They are not designed to drive well with this much lift. You will end up needing to regear the rear differential because it is going to feel like you're towing a 5,000lb trailer all the time with 35" tires. The stock gear ratios are not designed to turn big tires like that. I recommend keeping the lift below 3"...you can get a really solid performing lift for less than 3 grand....BDS lift is a drop bracket lift and just is not really popular here.

For the record gear ratios and tire size is completely subjective.

I drove around 8k miles with 35's and stock gears. I had gears in my garage for 7500 of those miles. I got used to it and didn't mind driving around that way. Mines an auto too.

Some people can't handle 33's and stock gears. Some people can't handle stock tires without 500hp.

All depends on what you can tolerate.

I would have to agree with smitty above. If you are set on a 6in thought I'd shop around. Now if that included regearing would be another story because you will need it.

It's all good. Some may give you a hard time but all in fun.. it's your truck and get what makes you happy. Get more quotes and use the search tool to do lots of research on what you want and will need. There should be a 6in lift thread somewhere where you can find what others have done and everything that was needed. Some may even give you goid idea on what it cost them?

    Ditto.

You'd be surprised what you can do yourself with common tools and a little bit of reading. Save that money and buy tools instead. Lots of Tacos in Cali, I'm sure you could even make some cool new friends that would enjoy helping you out with an installation. You could spend a lot less and end up with a lot more in the end. Just my $.02.

BDS 6" lift, Toyo tires on Method wheels
If you really have your heart set on a 6" drop bracket lift then at least you picked the best. BDS is the very best. For $1800 that is their basic kit. Their premium kit is about $3,400. That kit includes Fox 2.5 coil-overs for the front and they are $800 each. Its an 8 hour job not 10 so labor should be around $1000 maybe a little more. If you drop down a size on your tire selection and go with 33" tires you may be able to do without the CMC but only if you don't wheel too hard. Alignments should be around $130. You will have to regear even with 33"tires if you have an automatic.

Be advised that if you choose to go with a BDS 6" lift kit...you will need to have 18x9 wheels with a 4.5 back spacing to clear some components of the lift kit. 16" and 17" wheels will not work even with spacers. Ask me how I know. LOL. A drop bracket lift requires part of your frame being cutout and removed just so you know.
There seems to be guys that prefer a 3" lift and guys that prefer a 6" lift. Just remember...it's your truck and your money so you can do what you want with it. Go for a ride in a lifted truck first and see if it's for you.
    Good luck.

FWIW just 10 miles per day commute (5 each way?) is about the worst service duty you could give that engine, poor thing will never get hot enough to burn off the nasties in the oil. Make sure you keep the oil clean with changes at least each 3500-4000 miles...

I would look at getting a 2 to 3 inch lift and 33" tires for the truck. A 6 inch lift is mostly for looks and not for off road performance. The quote seems very expensive. You probably need a regear for 35s.

    Your truck/ your decision.

I say for that amount of coin to look into some quality coilovers and rear suspension and have a TW meet up install party. You will have quality stuff from the start and likely spend about half.

I believe that is 10 hours to install the lift, with additional time added for tire clearance.

Overall this sounds like a pretty decent deal to me.

Especially considering what people pay for lifted tacos from the dealer!
