I'm not a mechanic although I'm decently mechanically inclined. I bought some fox 2.0 coilovers that I'll be installing when they arrive, and want to take care of anything while I'm in there. The truck has 81k miles and there is no clunking or clicking but I noticed there is some light build up below my upper ball joints and wanted to get opinions if people think they should be replaced. The boot doesn't look to be torn, so is that normal for these trucks, or is that a sign they are on their way out.

I'm only lifting the front maybe 1.5" or so, enough to level it out, so I'm not building some wild rock crawler or trying to dump a ton of money in it and replace the entire UCA. If the upper ball joint needs replaced, can I or should I replace just the boot, or the entire ball joint? What brands have people had good luck with?

1.5" will give a bro lean, lift the back a little too.

Replace the upper arm as a whole, I wouldn't bother with just eh BJ bc of the bushings in the arm could use a refresh too.

Be mindful of the possibility that you might need lower arms in order to get an alignment done if the cam bolts are seized which is very common.

I'll do the OEM .5" spacer in the back if there is even a hint of carolina squat
