Hey everyone, just bought a set of nitto's 295/70/17 and im trying to fit them with my 3'' pro comp lift but the uca's are way too close to my stock tires as is (265/65/17) so the nittos are definatley going to cause issues. has anyone had any success using wheel spacers? ive heard bad things about using them but wanted to hear first hand from someone else who may have ran into the same issue.. thanks everyone!!

    Search.

You will find your answer and then some. This forum has a huge database and a nice search function versus other forums.

Alot of users run them no issues. I am one of them.

I love my spidertrax, bought them for my 09, and took them off before selling it and out on my 12. Only issue with having spacers is, no major shops (NTB, discount tire, etc) will balance or rotate your wheels due to liability issues.

Word of advice man is that if money isn't an issue buy new rims with a different offset over the spacers. If money is an issue get the spacers. Now with spacers some say they come with locktite I never seen a package of it in the same box as a space, but none the less use locktite when you put them on. I'm sure you don't have to use much but somes better than none. I've seen 2 trucks lose a front tire Øn the road due to spacers becoming loose. You should check them periodicly regardless. If something feels weird out of the blue do yourself a favor and get off the road asap and check them. Good luck with your decision Øn whatever you do. I personally got a set of rims do to my situation with tire clearances around tax time a couple years ago and have had no tires come off thus far.

I run all-pro spacers, i think the 1.5". No problems so far! I know what the risks are, but I've been off roading, taken some hard hits and they are just fine!

Huh, that doesn't make sense, last I checked when you balance your tires, they are not on your truck and not even bolted to your spacers.

get them hub-centric. should be good to go. i use ballistic fab hub-centric spacers on my rear axle, no problems @ 10k miles.
better option would to get less backspaced wheels though IMO.

Not sure if its the same on the Toyotas, but I've shied away from wheel spacers after long term ownership of two Jeeps. I had wheel spacers on one, and the added offset ate a pair of wheel bearings about every 25,000 miles.

My buddy's silverado had more significant offset than mine, and his went through bearings every 20k as well.

That's interesting about the wheel bearings.. Maybe more pressure on them from the tire further out like a lever... But then again, how does your wheel bearing know the difference between a spacer and just less back spacing?

It doesn't. Having the tire spaced out by either using different offset wheels or spacers will have the same effect on your wheel bearings. It will put more stress on them. It's not a science though to say how much quicker they'll wear out or if you'll even notice.

Luckily I have warranty for much longer than 20k so I don't give a shit haha. Throw the stock wheels on and off to Toyota she goes!
