That is not much liability for the uninsured motorist to be made to pay! Plenty of people I know could do that much out of their savings!
These requirements are outdated --check into hospitalization and surgery rates these days.

Isn't that illegal? Not sure an attorney can help if you were illegally driving without insurance.

    Oof.

Real Advice: Sell it, buy something you can afford to insure.

Other advice: Get the frame checked and fixed at a body shop, rip off anything broken/non-essential, get insurance.

That pulling out into on the "courtesy" of other drivers is a dicey thing. It may well have been the other drivers fault -especially if he was ia not legal lane, but can you prove it.
Plus the fact that you had no insurance, this is two strikes against YOU.
Yes you got problems -looks like from the picts you were in Florida or Ca.
Did the other car not stop -- maybe he/she had more to hide than you.
    Was their a police report?

Sale the truck to a scrap yard and buy yourself a bus pass. Never buy a vehicle again until you can afford insurance.

I don't have much advise to give to the OP besides build a time machine and a) get insurance and b) don't cut off people. Looks like you put off road wheels on it, quite spending money on frivolous stuff like that and go get insurance. Become a valued member of society.

But I'm curious... is a "totaled" vehicle an insurance designation? Like... his truck isn't technically totaled as no insurance company will ever designate it as such? and if that's true... then what are the legal requirements for attaching that the vehicle was in an accident so that future buyers have some avenue to be informed?

Yeah the insurance thing is a huuuuuge fk up. Full police report and all.

I'm hoping I can win based off her speed in traffic, 3 witnesses agreed she was going too fast for that lane.

Unsure how you think getting an attorney is going to help solve anything? You pulled into traffic, it’s your responsibility to make sure path is clear. You knowingly drove without insurance. Live and learn. Get the frame checked and go from there.

This same thing happened to me except I was the "speeding car" going straight. The woman pulled a left in front of me and ran right into my drivers side corner. Claimed the other 2 lanes let her go and that I was at fault because I didn't yield to her. The cop cited her for driving w/o insurance, reckless driving, and failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

OP - I would delete this entire thread, honestly. You basically admitted to being at fault. Maybe I missed it but isn't driving w/o insurance illegal in most states? I know in my state you can NOT register your vehicle without insurance.

If he does the repairs himself, no accident or totaled needs to show up on any vehicle reports.

No insurance and pulled into traffic causing a wreck..... I'm honestly surprised you weren't arrested when the cops arrived.

Let's really look into it , 2 cars yielded and gave me space, stopped traffic all around me , only open lane was the third lane which is a turning lane or merging lane. I peaked out enough , once I saw her it was too late , keep in kind she hit the front corner of my truck , not the side.

if that is the whole true story...then use your insurance, unless I missed that you have none. that's what insurance is for...and will be much cheaper than out of pocket. Out of pocket gets super pricey fast

ok now it says no insurance....uhoh
